And yes, anything lower than 60fps would be a fail for a ''Remastered'' version of an last gen game.

Currently playing Last of Us on ps3 and i must say i dont know what was with all that hype back then, game is nothing special really. I`m getting bored by those separate exploration/action sections - theres zero tension due to that clear separation betwteen these two stages of gameplay - i know that nothing will suprise me during exploration (which is very limited) and combat gets repetitive very fast. And zero tension in post apo action adventure? wtf.
You know, i never get the hype for Uncharted's either. Gameplay was average at best. I guess people losing their minds because these games as cinematic experiences are well done.
There is nothing wrong with targetting 60 fps. It means that they will be designing the game so it would maintain 60 fps as opposed to targetting 30, which would allow them to do even more.
It doesn't mean they are hoping it will be able to run at 60.

^ yup, pretty much sums it up. uncharted/last of us are not bad games per se but theres nothing special about them, and for sure not in story/characters department lol.
uncharted 1 bored me to death with constant kill-room sequences, 2 was better as a cinematic experience, 3 was so-so, combination of both 1 and 2 with all their flaws.
last of us - cliche zombie post apo adventure game, linear as fuck both in gameplay and story, its basically the same formula as uncharted minus great cinematic sequences, minus uncharted flow, humour etc
We’ve been putting out games at 30fps (more or less, yeah) for a while now. I mean, if you want only 24fps, that will let us put a whole lot more effects in!
Speaking less sarcastically, 30hz, 60hz and anything in between is more than just about being cinematic, it’s about the underlying systems that affect gameplay and how they refresh. Your body/eye can’t compensate for that like it does when watching 24fps source material on film. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge cinephile and buy Criterions, watch things in as original format as possible, etc., but in games, as most of us know, the higher the frame rate you can pull out, the better the overall experience, generally speaking.
Games vs. TV don’t have that “soap opera” effect at higher than 24fps frame rates in my experience, but then again I’m not a dark10x frame rate peeper ; )
I, for one, am looking forward to seeing our final result with TLOU PS4.
finally someone in the industry not spouting retarded bullshit like "but teh humin aye cannit see more den 24 psf hurf "
My thoughts exactly.

"remestarted" by mean its 1080p 30 fps or more then that?
No, remastering means taking the original assets and enhancing them. In this case they're redoing just about everything for the PS4 version. More detailed character models, better lighting. Remastering doesn't necessarily mean rendering at a higher resolution / higher framerate.
They are doing that in this case too though. 1080p60 is what they're going for.
The level of detail on characters and their models weren't all too bad either way. I'd prefer they worked more on the environment
Also screenshots don't show how much will be gained by it running at 1080p natively. Last of Us PS3 screens all look great at 720p. Not quite the same looking at it on a 1080p display when playing though...
PS4 definitely looking better, not day and light differents tough, and 60 FPS with that is pretty neat.
I'm sure (in few years of course) PS3 emulated with Native 1080p on PC will shrink the gap.
PS4 will always looks better tough.
I'm not impressed by this. I'd expect a much bigger improvement over an 8 year old piece of tech. I also do not see any replay value in the game, the gameplay itself wasn't anything special. It'll be a great experience for people who haven't played the original though.

are you kidding? I think they nailed the gameplay, and i do find it special to have a game where you actually run out of bullets, as in i only know a couple games that do (resident evil)
game is damn near to perfect in my book and it deserves all those goty's.
what a shitty trailer. 3/4 of it contains black screen with captions, great. few seconds of a fragment of cutscene showing next to none graphics upgrade, doh.
Ya that trailer isn't very impressive, the graphics look the same as the ps3 version with some anti aliasing and higher resolution. Hope to see more soon.

theres nothing to be jealous, both U and TLOU arent anything amazing, and if all they do is bumping it to 1080/aa/60fps then fuck that rehashed versions, bring some new sequels/ips to ps4.

The game had flaws in gameplay. I remember some serious AI pathfinding problems.
