I was using sarcasm because you guys are talking like Ubisoft did this out of spite or sheer incompetence. Believe me, if there was an easy way to do it without wasting resources, they would do it.
They also experimented a lot with ship vs ship battles multiplayer in AC4, but ultimately the mode didn't make it because it was so technically impractical.

It's not that technically difficult either. It's just more effort than your typical MP shooter. If it was technically impractical in general, we wouldn't have games like The Division coming up.
It's only impractical if you don't see such a multiplayer mode as a big enough selling point to invest too much in it. A proper Watch Dogs multiplayer would require some dedicated effort - more effort than making some add-on MP mode to get that box ticked. They might as well see it as a primarily single player experience, like Assassins Creed (its multiplayer is fairly basic, in comparison).
With that said, since they are saying they will have a free-roam multiplayer mode, that suggests that they are actually willing to work on something like that.
We don't really know what they have in mind for it at that point though.

http://gamingbolt.com/watch_dogs-features-over-13000-unique-animations-resolutions-yet-to-be-finalized
Quote: | “Aiden Pearce’s Animation were built from the ground up for Watch_Dogs. Aiden has approximately 4000 animation files in game. Aiden has approximately 2300 navigation and interaction, and driving related animation files and about 1700 combat related files.
“Our AI enemy NPCs have a wide combat system, with several distinct mental states and in depth reactions to hacking ingredients . The enemy AI has almost 4000 animation clips.
“The biggest difference between Watch_Dogs and previous games in the genre is how much animation is dedicated to the living city. Civilians of Watch_Dogs Chicago have the greatest number of animations in our production. They can have occupational animations, conversations, interactions with the world and reactions to dynamic ingredients, a variety of reaction to various threats, and they come in a variety of sizes, attitudes with different clothing and props.
“There are over 5000 unique animation clips required for the living city civilian simulation in Watch_Dogs. Overall there are more than 13,000 animation clips needed to bring Watch_Dogs to life, mainly because the game is a systemic open world game that has to cover a massive amount of contexts with many random elements. Watch_Dogs has more animation than any Ubisoft Production to date.” |

they write about a shitload of animations, i read that the game doesnt have a good physics engine and instead needs to have everything firmly animated.

The physics engine wouldn't help with that would it?, they'd still need to do all the idle animations and movement/fighting animations.
Using Havok will of course avoid having to make scripted death animations or similar (Like the 2D death animations from old games like Doom.) as instead the body will just fall and slump, stuff like Euphoria could take this even further as to improve realism or how to say, depending on what else is desired bullet physics, wind, water, grass and such can also be simulated of course.
(Though it's usually pre-animated instead of a dynamic calculation since that's less costly on performance.)

This game is a joke. The previous games made by this company is a joke. The company that makes this game is a joke. I'm laughing, but I am also crying because apparently in the video game industry shit floats better than anything and anyone can make it.

I think I'd even be accepting a "HD" rerelease of it. I remember that every week/month they released FREE (yes FREE!) cars and races (which were amazing).
But now, not only are they barely releasing any new content for their game, but if they do (see PoP), they make you pay, because now they are DLC, not add ons |
PoD? Prince of Derpia?
