People saying this game is soulless compared to DS1 are just drowning in a glass of water, talk about drama Laughing Sure, I could agree DS1 is still better than this one, but this is certainly a deserving and memorable sequel, and my GOTY so far (which will be very hard to top in the remaining 8 months in this year).
Not sure whats that supposed to mean. How is it not dramatic when my most anticipated game turns out to be so disappointing

Away with you and your proper games! Rolling Eyes We can't make a game that works properly with proper controls, so we'll make the challenge of the game to be fighting the control and "working around the limitations"! Do you also complain about controls in mechwarrior games or plane simulators?

I don't think that controls in DS are perfect of even good. They are clunky and weird. But some of the concepts you mentioned seem very deliberate and have nothing to do with console limitations because they persist on gamepads.

@dsergei But that is what I said, this is not a game that requires that type of controls, while the genres you mentioned are. And if you read my other posts, I said that controls are terrible even on gamepads. So I am not sure what you mean in your post, we are in agreement it seems. Smile

How do the pros at this game use lock on for dealing with enemies or bosses, are all strategies based on cylindrical dodging?

Cheers for help.

Could someone tell me why I should go trough the bellfry tower sol (on iron keep) and ring the bell?! Seemed kinda pointless, at the end I was again at the area where you spawn on the bellfry bonfire. No boss or something? I already killed old iron king before and smelter on 3rd try Smile

There's an illusory wall with 2 chest just before the drop back to Iron Keep/next to the Bellfry bonfire. And you can sometimes meet a certain dark phantom (NPC) on top, with a very small chance to drop a nice katana.

Heh, last night was when I got the most invaders in my world. Probably has to do with me killing a NPC (the metrosexual guy in Undead Crypt who didn't want the lights turned on) Very Happy

First I kicked some arbiter's (blue phantom) ass who invaded for my sins, and then 2 consecutive dark spirits (red ghosts) raped me successively Laughing

Just did the parry/ballista move on the pursuer in NG+,he takes a lot less damage from the ballista now..he's by far the easiest enemy to parry in the game every time he does his charge you can parry him without really timing it.

With a high stability shield and enough poise the smelter is quite easy. I just blocked all his attacked and dodged his fire swings, as two-three hits of it are enough to kill one. It's just crucial to dodge the very last moment and you are good to go Smile Also take a bit more time instead of trying to rush multiple hits.

(oh yeah and I went in with 3 people on the last try, but he could've been done easily alone Very Happy )

Really? I don't remember seeing any message about that on hitting New Game Scratch Head

Anyway, it was possible in Dark Souls I from what I read some time ago. And some of the bosses I've fought in co-op were one hit killing me, contrary to fighting them in co-op few days ago.
