Legit here so dunno but the patches were pretty nice, especially the one that sorted out the repeating NPC voice acting.

Top left, unchain the 2 character portraits by dragging one away from the other

Yep, I just installed the cumulative 3DM update without problems.
RLD and then ->3DMGAME-Divinity.Original.Sin.v1.0.37-v1.0.47.Update.Incl.DLC.and.Crack-3DM (with the latest update being the one that fixes the bug with the voices)

Definitely get a mage/witch, the spells and effects are just too awesome. PLaying a ranged char is also brilliant in this game. |
Thanks, I just started it again with the mage/female ranger combo and so far so good

A couple questions for those who have finished the Cyseal area.
Spoiler: | 1. How to open the Chest of the Sourcerer King after the Braccus fight?
2. How to open the Ornate Chest in Pontius Pirate's cave near the entrance?
3. How to reach the mound with treasure behind the church? I see the door I'm supposed to exit out of, but where is the other end of the tunnel? |

So fun, yet so horribly imbalanced. Ghastly zombies outside the old church are nearly unbeatable.........

If you're talking about Bracchus:
Spoiler: | I summoned a fire elemental near him so he and the Twins would focus on it (do not use the fire elemental to attack, his attacks will heal Twins and Bracchus). I then covered the whole area around the Baron skeleton with fire using Firefly and Small Fireball, so he pretty much had to run through it and burn to death. My party then focused on killing the Ghoul.
When the Ghoul was dead I cast Rain to get rid of the fire and weaken Twins/Bracchus, then used piercing ice shard, ice elemental, summon spider and various other spells to kill them. |

I couldn't figure any of those out either. For #2 my quest log said something like "he dropped a key, we should inform Aureus", but doing so doesn't bring up any dialogue about the key.

Unbeatable? Not quite. It's not imbalanced just because you don't walk through every fight.
Also, everyone should play on hard. Trust me.

They're not so bad, I use a lot of trip/freeze/paralyze-stuff on them. Also teleport spells when they get too close.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

Stealing is way too easy though. Toggle sneak mode and click away. I read it was 'designed with stealing in mind' but it doesn't seem so, not when every painting I pull down can be sold for ~$500 |
Stealing AND the dialogue options, I win every paper/rock/scissor-fight because of how predictable it is.

Btw if anyone else has huge framedrops while scrolling disabling the texture streaming in
C:\Users\username\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin\graphicsettings.lsx fixed that for me.
just change it too:
<node id="ConfigEntry">
<attribute id="MapKey" value="TextureStreamingEnabled" type="22" />
<attribute id="Type" value="0" type="5" />
<attribute id="Value" value="0" type="4" />
</node>
It will reset if you change any graphic setting so make the file read only .
The initial loading will be a bit longer but its way smoother without it.

thx alot, cant wait to try this, i hope it fixes my problem since the game is close to unplayable for me.
my pc may be an old piece of shit, but if i can play somewhat recent (although hardly graphics-intensive games) like lords of shadow 2 and dark souls 2 at high to max settings and constant 60 fps, then it should be doable with this game easily on medium settings, worst case low. but thats not the case, even on low i get heavy lag and stutter, it feels like i m playing it on a pentium 1 with an ati rage 4mb card. |
This will not help with overall framrate problems btw, it just alleviates the framerate drops while scrolling the map.
If you have low fps while standing still you need to lower some settings shadows and ambient occlusion where the biggest boosts ive found.
It's also a good idea to enable the framecap to make it even smoother, if you cant reach 60 fps , It's best to change it to 30 in the ini:
<node id="ConfigEntry">
<attribute id="MapKey" value="FrameCapFPS" type="22" />
<attribute id="Type" value="0" type="5" />
<attribute id="Value" value="30" type="4" />
Seriously i don't know why the most important settings are hidden in the ini..

Drag your character icons away from each other until the chain breaks and you can move them independently.

the framerate itself while idling is fine, it runs at 60 fps on med-high settings,
as soon as i scroll or do anything, like click on a character it starts stuttering like crazy.

Yeah same problem i had the tweak i mentioned should help (well it only stuttered while scrolling for me not if i clicked on a character), i didnt see any downsides like missing textures and such so far.

stealing is kinda shitty, you can only steal once from one npc which is kinda pointless, with pickpocket on 3 level value of items isnt that high + you cant come back to that npc later with higher skill, meh. tho immobilizing npcs by talking to them and sneaking from behind with thief character is kinda nice.

How do I travel here?
http://i2.minus.com/iCPVojfU9nVOp.jpg
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Have you gone through the cave with Arhu's "pet", if that didn't work then the south town gate would be the only remaining area since that was unavailable in the beta so there has to be something there that's important.
(There's a cove as well on the beach with the mysterious stranger but I have yet to explore that part because it's a little over my current level.)
