I played the early access release and it was buggy as hell. Hopefully in the couple of months since that "release" they did manage to fix the game.

If so, this may be the golf game some of us have been wanting since Links 2003.

The (mouse) controls are gamebraking.
Zero feedback of you're speed, also the game thinks it's skill to push you're mouse straight.
There is little skill involved in the game besides guessing how far and fast to pull and push the mouse, and doing that in a straight line.

Why practice mastering a bad game?

Go back to playing Minecraft then and leave the better games to the adults.... just kidding, we all have our opinions about games.

This game is a very good golf sim and the course designer is so easy, there will be an influx of players just for that aspect of it.

I played Links 2001-2003 back in the day and had a blast and yes, it was 3 click and true swing and probably as easy as could be but it was fun and mp was even more fun. This has that potential....FUN for those of us who like these types of games.

I'm liking it a lot. Razz I've only played a couple of games so far with the final build, but I find the game definitely well-made, and not simplistic at all actually. Getting acceptable scores takes attention and precision, you can't just blindly swing with the default equipment and expect to have good results.

It's also an excellent Anger Simulator! Laughing

Well it's been a while since I've played a TW game, but there's a course generator which is pretty nice, doesn't have all the "gimmicks" and TV-like presentation of TW (which is good, imo), and you have full ability to analogically control the swing with the stick/mouse depending on you preferences, without needing to click anything (sounds easy but it's not Razz)

With the Yarr release though there are some limitations, such as, it's only possible to play single courses alone, since the tournament mode is online-based.

So there's no SP "campaign"?

No sadly, as an offline user I can only play single rounds of golf on a course of my choosing. The other modes require a connection as far as I can see.

1) Unity 5 – We’ve moved the game to Unity 5. This means lots of great things for all areas of the game.

2) Player Creator – We’ve got a huge player creator, where player features, clothing, clubs and gear will all be customizable. It’s almost limitless with millions upon millions of combinations to get your avatar looking just as you want him or her to.

3) Golf Societies – We’ve now got golf societies, not only places where you and your friends can hang out and play against each other in tournaments but huge public clubs. (All currency referred to is GAME CURRENCY, not real money)

4) Career Mode – Players will also be able to play away a more singular game against AI. Using offline societies and AI players to earn money and work your way through the challenges of increasing difficulty. All money earned here can be transferred to your online career, so it’s well worth taking part.

5) You’ll be able to now design courses with multi-level water, crowd placement, lots of new stuff to place as well as lots of new tools to make life easier for the designers out there.

All I want is one of these fucking golf sims to have a miniature golf mode. I don't want flashy simultaneous multiplayer with power-ups and flamings exploding balls (ouch). Just some old-school mini-golf.

Also, this game can go fuck itself. I have never been able to play any of the mouse swing games and this one is no exception. I cannot push the mouse in a straight fucking line no matter what. And there is no way for me to judge how hard I'm hitting the ball. Doesn't seem to matter if I I push it softly or quickly. Or only pull it part of the way back. I get it on the green (somehow) and then either hit it about three inches or 30 feet past the hole.

I get it. Mouse swing works for some. But it doesn't work for others. Give me the standard 3-click or GTFO.

DELETED.

Sucks because there really aren't any good ones left. Perfect Golf looked promising but it won't play offline at all. Back to waiting for a good one

You can choose to play a ghost which is a recorded round of a real player. Isn't that better than an AI round, which is a fake round?
