3DS emulation is in early stages these days. no games at all yet.maby not even the next year or 2.
on original DS the best so far as I tested:
desmume
and no$4gba
been long time since I tested any of those though. on android you have "drasticDs" which cost money. a bit.
What's the best Nintendo DS emulator nowadays and can it emulate 3D?
iDeaS or DeSmuMe are the two best NDS emulators right now, but no support for 3DS and it's unlikely for many, many years. You won't be playing in a year If you want to keep up on info, check out the GBAtemp thread for Citra, the only public project so far.
Well, you could get an MHL/HDMI lead for your phone and play it on a TV or monitor.. use the phone as a controller \o/ I'm not sure what to suggest about AndroVM though, it's not like Blustacks which is a wrapper, AndroVM *is* Android through and through, in my experience and testing there hasn't been a single game that didn't work - even the Kairosoft and SquareEnix games worked perfectly, which are notoriously unplayable under BlueStacks.

Could you check the Wayward Souls with your androvm? it can be easily downloaded from many sites (like apkmania), its around 40mb.
Do I need any specials ova files? i had androVM_vbox86t_4.1.1_r4-20121119-gapps-houdini-flash.ova
Anyway its not a big deal, game should eventually be released to pc afair. I could put video on my tv via wifi/software and connect ps3 pad to phone via cable/software, configure it and play it this way but thats just too much hassle, dont have the proper cables. If it would run fine on pc I could just play it on tv via hdmi and connect wireless pad to pc (if those android emulators can even properly run with pads lol)
Damn, that's impressive. This emulator is as powerful as my washing machine which I once used to play Doom just for fun. Small screen but it is still doable.

I know you're being sarcastic, but if you knew anything about emulation you wouldn't. Having a (even very rudimental) PPU Recompiler IS quite impressive for such a complex hardware and such a young project.

+1,Emulation,as I said few times,is not 'magical wand',it's evolution and progress for years to come.
PC is now getting decent numbers of ex older gen exclusives from 3rd parties, which far better then emulation,in most cases,so in the end,we might not be able to play all the PS3 games for years, but key games like FF XIII and it's sequels are on reach(and maybe some more to come),aside from PS3 Sony exclusives, the number of 3rd parties games PS3 is worth getting for is getting slimmer,I won't be surprised if 3rd parties games like MGS4 will be ported over eventually.
I joked and teased but in the end, we really WILL be playing FFXIII on PC by Christmas It's also nice to see some progress on 3DS emulation, though I guess we're still a long way off yet.

This guy.
But you are right, I know nothing about emulation. After all, I'm not the guy with spoken knowledge who told us we will be playing PS3 games on emu within a year. Almost a year passed since then and only few months left - man, I can't wait to play Heavy Rain or GoW3.

Who said anything about games being playable in a year?
"Impressive progress" != "being able to run commercial games full speedz omg!!11!!!"
Someone, who read that article on Kotaku, which mentioned "how easy it is emulate PS3" did. Let's not point fingers.
But you were quoting me
No problems tho, I agree with you, in fact I said something along the lines of "don't expect anything playable for at least 5 years or something" some time ago in this very thread.
I wonder if this improves The Last Story or F-Zero X?
It does, those are playable now.
Holy. Fuck.
The Last Story doesn't chug down to unplayable levels in town any more.. it's full speed F-Zero GX is still unplayable though, halves in framerate during anything 3D .. such as displaying your racer I hate trying to get this game working, everyone else has no troubles but it has never run full speed for me.
Check out that delicious 25fps half speed If I set the game to 60hz for 60fps, it goes screwy and ends up running at 120
~edit~
Fixed the double speed thing by disabling vbeam hack. Still doesn't run full speed though, 25/30fps depending on Hz selection and it's slowwwwwwwwwwww. Only speeds up to full speed in menus or randomly on a track with little going on
Wow, xenoblade *seems* to run at full speed (unless there is some really really demanding stuff outside the first fight and the first area in the woods ), nice job with the optimization.
But man, configuring the derptroller in dolphin was a nightmare

What's your proc, bud? As with most emulators, Dolphin is highly CPU dependent and you need a fast and efficient proc for best results.
@Boneleech
It's likely just me to be honest, there are countless videos and posts online from people playing F-Zero GX at full speed with enormous visual upgrades. I've never been able to Not on any single version of Dolphin *ever* has F-Zero GX ran full speed for me. I must be doing something bizarrely strange :\

Q8200@3.3GHz
From what I've played so far (not much, granted) it ran without any slowdowns from 30fps (). I'll play some more tomorrow to see if it's stable or if big battles/towns full of npc's make it crumble.

Well 30fps is what the game runs at anyway, or 25fps for the PAL version, so you're okay The opening starter battle is the hardest you'll be hit for a long, long time.
