Played it for a little, very impressive concept and presentation, they turned Civ 5 upside down. I just hope it's easy to introduce Civ 5 map types with better landscapes and more players, I always preferred continents plus with lots of leaders.
Hope this techweb and progression stuff had enough effort invested in it so it does not get figured out too easily. Also the map looks a bit dark and bland to me.

So far I'm not impressed. It is too familiar to Civ 5 in terms of mechanics. The high tech setting only really impacted the flavour, but nothing substantial. For a setting about humans leaving Earth to colonize an unknown world, I didn't get the feeling of trying to survive an alien environment. Aliens are just bandits, miasma is the only thing that threatens you as a force of nature. And it certainly didn't help that they just rename stuff like cutlure to virtue, or gold to energy, happiness to health. These things doesn't mean shit when they operate the same even though they are entirely different things in real life.
All I got out of this game is that it is a very clever re-packaging.

Im surprised there isnt more posts like this, it felt exactly the same to me.
Civ 5 for me was one of the "simplest" and most dull of civs and they had to pick that one to make an alpha centauri successor. Oh well.

The reason there's no more posts like that is because nearly everyone here knew the game wasn't much more than a Civ V re-skin. Thing is, for many, that is good enough, they just wanted to fantasize because of the space/futuristic setting (which I'm personally not very fond of, at least not for this particular franchise and not when compared to historical settings).

Exactly this has happened to me in Civ5 - several times.

That only happened to me like once in Civ V when I was a beginner playing on Prince difficulty. Last few games I was playing on Emperor (haven't gone above that yet) but I always managed to stay at peace with everyone for the whole duration of a full game until I got a cultural or diplomatic victory.

I have never been bored of a new CIV game before, but after a few games, Beyond Earth accomplishes this!
The game seriously lacks the depth and immersion of the previous CIV games! The leaders and factions have zero personally. Game feels somewhat dumbed down and there is a strange lack of information on basic things you find on the planet. Even simple terrain animations, such as swaying bushes/trees are nonexistent, and the field of depth blurriness is an abomination!
50 euros for what is in reality a masked CIV “Expansion/MOD”? The price alone feel like a slap in the face!
I recommend you check out Endless Legend instead.

So GMG sent me a Beyond Earth Key a few days ago, I added it and it pre-loaded fine. Then a day or two later they sent a message that I had gotten a key for Borderlands: Pre-sequal and that it would be deactivated. They also supplied me with a new key (different from the first key) for Beyond Earth, but the original install is still working .. what to do .. what to do..

managing trade routes later on with 8-10+ cities really bugs me, this thing needs some auto managing option

The victory conditions and how far along the AI is in each is displayed in your quest log, F8.
Edit: And perhaps just as important check the diplomacy screen once in a while to see how they are getting along in their affinities, if anyone is getting close to 13 in one it's time for war.

Man that technology web really bugs me out. It's not sleek, it works against me... sure it's flashy but it's a pain in the butt to get around with.
Game itself is quite fun, played it all evening with my girl. Pretty much Civ 5 with some newer things to figure out. But you'll pick up fast if you've played the civ games.
