Yup, I can definitely attest to the wonderful feeling of speed!

I've gone from 512k -> 1Mb -> 8mb -> 20mb -> 80mb over the course of about 15 years.

Enjoy Very Happy

I was at 56k -> 4Mb (data package 1Gb)-> 1Mb (flat) -> 10Mb (flat)

And when I move out I'll move somewhere in the city (I'm on the outskirts kinda atm), and the speeds are better there, so it can only get better Smile

Damn, I remember downloading only 700MB movies, because that took several hours... awful times Laughing

Nice.

Now only Fable and Ixi left in the dark ages(that I know of).

I'll personally lay the cable to your house Flabby if it means you'll be able to play BF4 for 5 consecutive seconds without getting kicked.

No, but in the same "village". It's even a new district with just new houses, but providers don't care about providing proper internet access. There's one provider willing to build new lines with access up to 100Mb, but you have to be a customer to request it. When a specific amount of customers in this area request it they will upgrade. BUT of course I can't be a customer, because they can't guarantee (proper) internet access in my apartment. Maybe there's another way to get on the list, but atm I've just accepted it how it is. First few weeks were terrible though Razz

10Mbps is still very much gold here most people are still on 1-2Mbps and yeah we have Google Fiber in our country as well Laughing

The best part is Youtube is cached and all 1080p 60fps vidoes plays instantly.

Haha yup, it's because the infrastructures are still the same as ~10 years ago, so it's inevitable that they progressively degrade till the point that they don't work anymore (we both experienced that xD). I was forced to change the contract but the same old lines are used, so big improvements can't be seen. Went from 3.8Mb/s to a potential 4.8, but somehow the ping has gotten much worse!

I went 10mbit > 25mbit > 40mbit. The last upgrade I didn't even know about it until I read on the ISP forums. They upgraded all packages, mine was 25 now 40mbit for the same price. I was quite surprised to be honest Very Happy

Huh? To me what he said was that he went from 10, to 25 to 40. So > is right, no? Since when talking about progression, we use > to mean "to" and not "greater than"

I also perceived that part of hawkeye's post as his transition from a 10Mb connection to a current 40Mb one with a midpoint in 25Mb. I thought it was pretty clear and unambiguous.
