If you want to start shaving with a DE razor, you should buy a sample pack of blades before buying a big lot of a single type of blade.

Can someone recommend me a DE classic system? There are dozens and dozens WTF. Reasonably priced of course, I don't need a platinum, gold coated model.

Well I bought the Wilkinson Sword Classic and I've been using it for two weeks (every two days or so). The device feels more solid and robust than I expected (costs 6 euros). I feel like I'm completely raping my skin though :/ It's not bleeding, but some areas get red and my face feels like shit for a couple of hours. I feel like a masochist now, so I'll stop. Damn you gilette and your overpriced blades!

What, this thing?

http://www.amazon.com/Wilkinson-Sword-Classic-Razor-Blades/dp/B0012Y1FCK

God no. That's a terrible razor, barely any better than the Bic disposable crap we used to have in the 80s.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wilkinson-Sword-Systems-Quattro-Titanium/dp/B001DUZ74K/

Either of those ones. I love the Hydro 5 personally, but the Quattro is incredible.

The Classic is great to begin with, i use it myself. Although the cleaning sucks, but well.
Of course the most important thing in such a device is to use good razors.

I used the blades supplied by Wilkinson, I assume their blades are good. The blades are super sharp, it shaves very smooth, but my skin gets irritated. It just feels incredibly uncomfortable, I didn't get the double-edged razor hype on the net Sad

I think I'll try the Wilkinson quattro, still expensive though. But gilette fusion is 20 euros for 4 blades, quattro 13 euros for 4 blades. So considerably cheaper.

edit: Hydro 5 is 10 euros with 4 blades on the net, I'll try that one.

not as long as 50 disposable ones for that price, also after a few shaves there is so much hair in there that cleaning is a chore and its easier just to use disposable ones one time per shave.

I've become so much lazy these days, that I basically shave ~twice a month (at best). I can even afford the awfully expensive Gillette blades for my Fusion thingy, since one package lasts me almost one entire year. Razz
Cutting down dat beard with the cheap ones would be a bloodbath, and believe me, I tried xD

I sometimes shave only twice a week, the disposable ones can't handle that. I have a very thick beard Sad
CLeaning the gilette blades is very easy.

Gillette fusion is a nice one to begin with!

Use Palmolive Shaving Cream for that

How the hell do you clean the Wilkinson quattro blades? With my Gillette Fusion I just rinse with water and everything comes out. After three shaves, the Wilkinson blade is full of hair. I think it's because the blades are so close together, water just doesn't get between them. What a retarded system.

Meh, I guess Gillette is the best Sad

I bought myself Philips trimmer QG3320, and I won't shave until I can grow a beard dammit! Very Happy

I still shave my mustache tho, mustache and chin are the only areas that my beard grows nicely, which kinda makes me look absolutely ridiculous so...
