Can't you turn off the point of interest?
I totally agree with the "witcher vision" thing. Its beyond annoying. They should have just kept it same as in Witcher 2 (press Z or what was it and it highlights stuff). |
Drowning_witch wrote: | ixigia wrote: | such as all the point of interests automatically marked a-la Ubi softie, |
Even if you disable hud they are shown on the menu map? Assuming both hud disabling and a map exist |
Sorry for the late reply, Xxax is right. I had disabled the minimap and various markers/indicators, but had completely overlooked the "Undiscovered POIs" one. With that disabled as well it's fully unspoiled exploration mode again (with nothing on the screen and nothing on the map - except for the quest markers and quick-travel points).
edit: IAA already answered that too

Writing, voices and characters are as expected above average if compared to most AAA titles out there (especially Bioware's ones, but those are children's games, not even real competition ) |
yep quests were great so far even the side ones , but sometimes i have trouble to root for anyone or help anyone as everyone I help turns out to be asshole and liar. |
Hahah true, though I think that unpredictability is also the beauty of it, kinda like in real life when you help someone and then out of the blue *bam*, betrayal_mode.

After messing around with kb+mouse keybinds and making good config for it I can say this: this game fucking rocks!

Thanks for the answer, but its kinda weird that, ranging from 55cº to 70, the fans are always at 40%, is it normal? i bumped them to 50% during my witcher playthrought, will it reduce its life? what is a safe limit of % to the fans?
thanks in advance |
That's just the default fan profile for your card, when the card really starts getting hot that's when the fans turn on and they often turn on too highly. Don't worry, you will do absolutely no harm to your card by increasing the fan speed, you'll just cool it quicker at the cost of increased noise.
mangaKat wrote: | My 670 is running at 99% @ 85c with limited 55% fan (to keep the noise down) but hey, they're good for 100c+ if I remember right |
They are, but Kepler cards are hardwired to throttle down the core frequencies when you go over 80C, so you may actually be running a little worse off than you could be.
.. and yes, the game is outstanding just as we hoped - and expected! - it would be. The world design, the quests, the characters, just great. Overall I'm not massively impressed with the visuals (less so due to the insane system requirements) but the character models and facial expressions are glorious. It's simply too large though, much like Skyrim and Dragon Age Inquisition, so I'm very worried about burning out the more I play.
Interinactive wrote: | So far, I don't know if the open world helped this game tbh. There's loads of nothing. Looooads of it. If there were more dungeons/caves and stuff it'd be better. I'm not very far in yet but it just feels like their linear smaller areas worked better in previous games. |
My thoughts exactly Sometimes smaller, or more linear, worlds can be beneficial. When I see such an enormous world like this one, I actually feel overwhelmed by it. |
Thanks for the insight, i guess ill keep them at 50% , gives me 60ºc at that fan speed.

Damn it, what the hell is wrong with this game, locked to 30 fps but still when simply running it doesnt feel smooth, like microstutter every few seconds or anination problem. Someone else noticing it or is that feature od console framerate ?

I find this pretty weird. I did everything i was supposed to do in the first zone. Explored and greyed out every single question mark, but i'm still level 4 and the first main quest after that zone is level 5 and the game says i might not be high enough level and should wait. curious indeed.

So the notice board, they are not necessarily always quests, just announcements? Makes sense, but they keep showing up over and over again after i've already grabbed them.

Check your framerate. If your framerate momentarily dips under 30fps it's gonna have these annoying stutters/frame loss. Same thing happened to me.
Really terribly optimized. There's no excuse for having frame drops when you're at 55 fucking frames (for me).

Thanks.
Another question.
Can I come back to white orchard anytime and buy the innkeeper's cards?
I'd rather not spend so much in cards right at the start.

I don't know if the merchant stays (haven't checked) but you can return to White Orchard whenever you want.
