Wow the patch after two days from release did more than most patches for other games do until the last patch. I was struggling a bit with the controls and the performance now they fixed both issues for me. This will definitely be goty!

Performance on 1.03 the same or better. Love the blood in the water, been to the swamps it's really intense. With the merchants and fair prices mod I finally got beyond 4k crowns and bought a ton of gear (better silver sword, thank god) and crafted some for the higher levels.

am i the only one having problems with torches and campfires in the world ?
they turn on when im very close this problem gets worse inside, especially in the tower of rats quest where you hike up the tower. its pitch black til i move around and the lights slowly turn on, and after patch 1.03 i get pop in on npcs if i run into a village (didnt have that in 1.02)

One accusation ppl made about Dragon Age Inquisition DEFINITELY can't be made about this one: the MMO-style quests. Quests in the witcher are so elaborated and unique it hurts me to think the amount of man-hours needed to just write them all.

Spoiler: | There is a chance she can be saved and the family salvaged. So it seems killing the spirit the better option. I might did to progress even further to see the conclusion of it. |

Dat patch. It fixed my only issue with the game which is (well, was) the lack of responsiveness during combat with m/kb on my end. Took me some minutes to adapt my timing, but it feels bloody good now, definitely more satisfying than the combat system in TW2 which was more constrained and less dynamic overall.
As for the rest, there's not much to say really, I'm still having a lot of fun, the CDmen nailed it again. I'm savoring every single detail, it's simply engrossing. I just entered the second area after who knows how many hours, and that was just the appetizer.
I almost feel bad when I finish an important quest or even a side-quest, the dialogues (as usual) are just great, with characters who have charisma, they're genuine and don't feel like puppets, which is exactly the opposite of what happened with DA:I, where I kept hoping the story would end as quickly as possible. But the same can be said about the Beth games as well, where the story is almost like a ..wait, is there even a story xD *repeatedly presses the select quest button*

Yeah that's one of the most common praises I see about the game. I love how nearly every side quest ends up being more than it seems and can end in multiple different ways.

Spoiler: | I seem to have done the wrong thing in every damn quest
Saved the ghost in the tower, and also saved that damn spirit in the cave... One thing is for certain! Never trust those fucking spirits! |
Why don't cities have names here? Have no clue what the small city in the east is called. Tried looking everywhere, and it's damn annoying.

@lolozaur Just got done from this one too, but I did some stuff in between, so this decision is final, I reloaded the save earlier in the questline and
Spoiler: | Let the spirit free because of the kids, since the witches took them but instantly realized that Anna was cursed because of my previous decision, fucking intense.
You also get his Gwint card when heading into his room, dat detail.
Wondering what other decisions are going to be surprises, the game surely will remind you that you won't save everyone... |

I'll prolly get flak for it, but i think the story and dialog on Skyrim fking awful. And npcs pretty dull and lifeless. I only play for mods and exploration (and some loot whore spirit).
But Witcher seems to have the whole package: great combat (im loving it), charismatic npcs (and pc), well-written quests and sidequests, and so far, a good overal story arch.
I'd say i'd be torn between this and GTAV for GOTY for me. But since i've already played GTA on X360, the "wow-factor" wasn't as great as Witcher 3 is being so far.
