in a properly balanced game, it can be a good mechanic. if the weapons degrade, if food/water and healing items were actually needed other than for constant health regen spam, it would be part of tactics on what items to bring to a cave before going back to a town to replenish.

Something like realms of arkania games, then it would matter.

As i tend to loot everything that is or might be valuable in games, i just hope that things like ammunition and crafting ressources won't have any weight - or at least only minimal.

I don't like having legendary enemies or 'bosses' in my Fallout either. It's too far into the hack n slash territory and it makes me believe the developers looked a bit too deeply into the Borderlands design documents.
Legendary enemies is just an excuse for not having a reason for them being there.

I like having some special enemies in games like this. Though they could have at least gave those an own name, instead of adding "Legendary" to their standard name.
I also hope that those enemies will have some special abilities, instead of having more HP and maybe doing more damage.

Didn't New Vegas do this too, you didn't strictly loot unique armor and weapons off of defeated legendary monsters but you could usually find one lying around in the general vicinity such as say the unique variant of that mortar cannon in the deathclaw cave.
(Though they also placed unique items around the world such as the Lucky .357 revolver in the hotel safe or the CZ Avenger unique minigun in the crashed truck in a crater, come to think of it I believe nearly every "normal" weapon type had a legendary variant although they weren't always better, some times they just had quirks or minor bonuses and I'm pretty certain they couldn't be upgraded in the vanilla version of the game compared to their base versions.)

EDIT: Oh and yeah not all monster types had legendary variants, in fact I believe there might only have been four or so though I only remember the deathclaw and the cazador.
(New Vegas also had more variety among creatures such as deathclaw "cubs" and young versions - though those were only shorter but had the same base model - and then regular and finally the matriarch and patriarch with the alpha deathclaw as the legendary - and most difficult enemy in the game AFAIK.)

Is that before or after subtracting the AU/NZ time zone difference? I guess it's after and this is the earliest it unlocks.

If it's done right, it can be good but it's very very rarely done right. Games that add the option for followers to head off to sell your stuff do it right. It means you don't waste time running back to a vendor BUT you lose the firepower of your follower so there's a trade off. However, the fact that you can travel anywhere easily in FO3 and Skyrim just made it a nuisance - the real "burden" was finding shop keepers with enough money to buy stuff off you.

@neeger93 Irrelevant for the countdown. Timer was set before the "change" which did nothing else than correct it for US unlocks (9th in some) but for NZ nothing changed.
