You already disqualified yourself from taking part in the discussion already long ago in this thread. Hurt much? |
You'r the only one being butthurt here. I couldn't care less, what thread you post in, to be honest. And all this lingo of "You already disqualified yourself from taking part ..." sounds even more like we intruded your Safe Space. Perhaps you should be posting on Tumblr?
Also, let's establish FACTS.
1. I came in here posting this today: Inventory management takes away around 50% of the game time, it's so bad. Really horrible, in fact. - notice, I didn't compare it to anything, just stated my opinion.
2. Then you reply with this: No, but Witcher 3 is his favorite game, of course there's no Inventory management there.
So, mister Safe Space ... who exactly brought up other games in this thread?
Let me help: you. We just responded after that.
So, scuttle back to your Safe Space, you are like a boring broken record... who happens to be very confused or intentionally lying.

But keep saying things that are not true yo, whatever floats your boat m8. All I see is insults and assumptions |
All I see is a stubborn man incapable of admitting he jumped the gun, which you have. Tell me: during this conversation was it or was it not you, who brought up Witcher 3 first?
Simple YES/NO answer please. Let's settle this.
Anyone can check back the past couple of posts to see for themselves:

---
So, simple YES/NO: was it in fact you, who brought up Witcher 3 today - and then started moaning about us invading your space?
Didn't know such oversensitive people were on these forums.

@Radicalus Not really, I only pointed out the hypocrisy in your "statement", which was enough combined with other threads to see where you are going with this.
Keep going, I like how you're getting personal.

YES/NO. Were you the one to in fact bring up witcher 3, then start bitching about people talking about other stuff in this thread?
Man up, and admit.

@Radicalus I don't have to admit shit to you, lol. Is this your only thing now or are you going to let me go to my safe place? You're trying hard.

@sabin1981 I did say so, before and after I've seen it. Though I may be the exception, I keep it super-tidy but it still doesn't even cost me 5 minutes. CK soon so that's just of a temporary nuisance.

I've played the game, I've done all the things I care to over the course of 85 hours. I've gotten, what I think, is a well informed opinion on it now.
What follows are my thoughts.
I really enjoyed exploring the world. Theres a lot of stuff in it. The gunplay is great, though obviously not as complex as dedicated tactical shooters. But miles beyond what it was in the previous installment.
Crafting is entertaining, if a bit meaningless concerning settlements; theres no real tangible gain to setting up multiple settlements and traderoutes. Sure you earn more money, but you really struggle to find something to spend it on. But the weapon customization system I got fully invested in with "Gun Nut" and "Science!" fully maxed out. And it greatly paid off with mods.
I was playing on very hard and then later 'upgraded' to survival, only difference being time takes for health items to take effect. But I needed all the damage I could get out of my weapons so modding them was a must.
I like shooting limbs being a viable tactic, and not just constantly going for the head, cribbling enemies is a fun way to end combat as enemies try to get away from you.
Having to power power armor is an interesting system, if a bit useless. The last 10 hours of my game I was constantly in power armor and by the time the game "ended", after a total of 85 hours, I still had 64 cores left.
The dialogue system is downright idiotic. Multiple times I had situations where there were speech checks that I passed and I would reload and go for the choices with no speech checks, the only difference in the outcome was more xp for me. Same consequences no matter what you do or say. Maybe in the next version they get rid of the dialogue system completely?
I enjoyed the game to the point where a certain faction comes flying onto the scene. It reminded me of how annoyed I was with the way it worked in Fallout 3. Suddenly Enclave all over the wasteland because reasons!
Spoiler: | When I actually went to the brotherhood of steels blimp and found that they were now all 'semper fi do or die' I almost had a fit. Fallout was now as close to CoD as it could get.
Nevermind the fact that them being there to destroy the institute to 'save the commonwealth' because technology is bad mmkay? made no fucking sense given what we know about the Brotherhood of Steel.
They want to appropriate tech, make it their own. Not destroy it, and certainly not to 'save' anyone. They'd sooner crawl into a bunker and wait out the coming apocalypse than fly in a blimp to risk their necks. |
The story and the writing went further downhill from there reaching fratboy dudebro levels of quality at the lowest, the highest being the detective missions.
The legendary enemies dropping 'legendary' loot is dumb as well, I ended the game with multiple arcane artifacts that allowed me to never having to reload. Or doing more damage in the dark. Or an armor piece that made me luckier.
I cannot in any kind of good faith consider the legacy of this game to be part of what I will consider Fallout canon as established by the original games.
As far as almost everybody else is concerned though this is now Fallout; A Borderlands inspired shooter with neat crafting and weapon customization mechanics.
If theres another installment in the franchise and it's not made by Obsidian. I don't think I'll care.

Was this mod posted before?
Full Dialogue Interface
This mod makes the game display the full lines of what your character is going to say in conversation, instead of just a paraphrase.

My problem is specifically the game time aspect of it. I don't mind the weight limit, that is cool imho. You have to chose, what to take, what not, you have to make trips, all that is cool. Problem is it takes ages to break down stuff and to sell stuff. It's all about Quality of Life changes.
I really wish studios would put more effort in these things.

I kinda like not knowing what the bugger's gonna say, it keeps the suspense.

I now only build the crafting stations for each settlement I own, scrapping all existing content so if people were living there earlier well they can fuck right off.
(The only thing I've noticed I might use them for is perhaps if I set up little shop stalls or scrap stations but there's been no need for that and this way I avoid raids and other stuff too.)

sabin1981 wrote: | Thanks for the tips, JB! Any idea exactly which GR command it is? As you can see in the first two images of mine, the indoor fog is truly obnoxious and I want it gone Though, saying that, if this "fog" is tied to god rays, I'd rather not wholesale disable god rays if I can help it :\ |
"gr fog 1"
or "gr fog 0" to reset it back top default, you can use gr without any parameters to see all available commands and how they are used or the command gr info to see the current settings.
Disabling fog does not disable the god-rays, I'll try to get a screenshot comparison up.
(You can also decrease and increase the quality from 0 at the lowest to 1 as medium and finally 2 as high-quality, only really makes a tiny difference in filtering of said ray effect but you can also set it to 3 to improve quality even higher but it seems to also introduce small visual artifacts / glitches on the rays.)
