Or can you use this mod for building:
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1267/?
It allows you to place objects everywhere, even when the marking is red.
// Meh, seems after latest patch it doesn't work anymore or crashes your game.

Yea, but they will teleport anyways to their assigned spots, when you sleep/wait.
And during an attack the settlers run around like lemmings anyways.

Because the snap point is the top step, not the bottom. Float a piece of floor up in the air and snap it to that.

Guys... What the hell.
I placed a couple of shop stands in my village, assigned a settler to each of them, all of them are marked as "occupied", but... two of those "shopkeepers" never show up at their stands.
I couldn't be bothered to do it yet, but I guess resetting the settler assignments might help.

Anyone could explain how can I make my settlements make money for me? And how can they produce materials for me?
All I do right now is scavenging for bottlecaps and components but in 2-3 hours I only find enough to make 1-2 mods for 1 weapon and overall I have 5000 bottlecaps so far. (by playing 30 hours)
(And I have 3 star "find more money" perk)

Aye noticed around that number they start blocking each others path. Assign one or two and they clear out again.

About 15. The ones assigned to crops seem to work fine though, it's just those two that went missing.
Honestly, I don't even know which ones they are and where are they/what are they doing. I guess I need to craft a bell, hoard everyone to one place and do some reorganising.

Boston is like a doomed area for games. First Ass Creed, now this...
35 FPS in city area is hardly any fun.

Shadows and god rays as low as possible. Rest... on default (ULTRA detected for 970GTX).
There are people with 980Ti reporting same issues, same FPS drops into 30's.

Yeah, I've been there.
Well I'm running it on a cheap 6 core i7 and I didn't notice 35 fps there. I'm gonna fire it up and check it if you would like. (oh and my 680gtx is 4gb not 2)
Also: save the game where its 35 fps, quit. Load up configer util and set res to 720p. Fire up the game. FPS boost=Gpu limited.

Yup there are specific spots that really drags the engine to its knees. The 'best' solution to it was the dynamic shadow mod that gave about 10 more fps. But 40/45 is still shit, no matter if it's for 10 mins here and there.
It's also a bit nonsensical... other Boston parts that seem heavier on the hardware are running fine and then other spots seeming less intense bogging it down.
I miss me being blissfully ignorant of this the first 60 hours!
@Ampee
Build shops, you'll find caps at the 'Misc' tab in the workshop inventory. Not that you gain much without perks and such. At least I don't seem to find much caps or make much from the stores.
For resources: Also very minimal from the food and scavenger bench. No idea how to improve the yield from settlers.
So far the settlements seem rather useless since they don't yield much other than: whining about things to kill and freeing their idiot friends/family.
Sure you get a lot of food... but you must pluck it yourself. What's the bloody use of having settlers!

Haven't build anything related to trading, so I can't say how the system works, sry.
