Fallout 4, found the "Railroad" faction.
(Or well, finally decided to visit them as I'm nearing a certain point in the game where it'll be a bit difficult to make contact with them afterwards.)

(Just my luck that the terminal mesh shares the same screen texture but eh it'll work out well enough though it should give a happiness boost now to settlers, might be worth checking via FO4Edit how viable that is.)

Some Dragon Quest Heroes

 Spoiler:

Helldivers. This game is fun in multiplayer. Just go for the DDE pack containing all the DLC. Works out to be half the price if you were going to buy the base game and all the DLC separately. If you already have the base game but want all the DLC, navigate into any of the DLC links and at the bottom somewhere you will see the option to buy all the DLC at once in a package that is around 40% cheaper. The link is hidden away from the front store page. So Don't get caught out.

even though the reshade might not make the game playable it does make Fallout look stylistically better JB.

Xyzg,

I'm really tempted to pick up Dragon Quest Heroes. There is something about it that reminds me of Secret of Mana / Children of Mana.

To all of you taking posting screenshots here. What kind of tool to you use for taking screenshots? Never really been one for taking screenshots but I grabbed some older games that I thought would be neat to post a few screens of.

I use the image program IrfanView for converting to either JPG or PNG, for screenshots Fraps hasn't been updated in ages but might be enough for most games though I use MSI Afterburner and it's Riva Tuner Statistics Server (RTSS) add-on for screenshots which allows greater control but the tool is a bit more complex to use even if you disable the overclock functionality which is otherwise Afterburners primary use.

For Steam, Origin and UPlay genuine games can make use of their in-client overlays and take screenshots and the like from that, Steam is probably the most advanced but they've also been in this business the longest but their overlay allows taking screenshots and if needed have them saved as bmp / uncompressed for higher quality so you can convert them yourself to e.g PNG (lossless, large file size.) or high-quality JPG (lossy, meaning a loss of detail as you save the image but it's very minor at higher quality settings and the file size is very small.) Steam also allows for video recording with support for hardware encoding and decoding via most of the current supported GPU's.
(Afterburner allows the same bug again it's a bit trickier to set up and you have to set up RivaTuner too along with it as they work together.)

Another advantage with these overlays is that you can monitor stats, most usually your framerate should that be desired. Smile
(There's a small performance hit to enabling utilities like the FPS counter but it's mostly CPU side and pretty minor but it's still there.)

There are several other utilities too but I don't know much about them myself, for image viewers IrfanView, Gimp (Graphic image manipulation program, not leather-clad-man or woman with ball-gag.) and Paint.Net (Intended as a improved but still easy to use MSPaint variant.) are free and all are pretty good though paid software like Photoshop might be better but it's a bit overkill for "just" screenshots where you mostly resize and convert to various image file formats. Smile
(I know very little about video editing software so I can't be of much help with that.)

EDIT: PostImage is what I'm mostly using for image hosting, free and with a ad-blocker it shouldn't be bothering you with pop-ups and such either but stuff like Flickr might be better still if you set up a account for that, some hosts like Imgur apparently pre-compresses images after upload or how to say so quality will be worse though it can be very hard to notice outside of a direct comparison against the source image.

Thanks for the info! I've used different programs to take screenshots of desktop stuff over the year but those rarely work in games. I've been using Afterburner and RTSS for years for monitoring purposes so I'll look into that. Cheers! Smile

@JB: so I'm not the only one still using Fraps, haha! Very Happy You perfectly said it all, no need to add anything. Razz

The only thing, a non-conventional way that I frequently use is Reshade's internal screenshot function, especially when the game doesn't allow for the combo overlay/Reshade to coexist peacefully. The pics are uncompressed pngs by default, so all is well.

I haven't played Secret of Mana TiHKAL so I can't compare the games unfortunately. I can tell you however that Dragon Quest is probably about 80% Action and 20% rpg though. There's lots of cutscenes, the characters are quite likable and it all moves along quite briskly. Each 'mission/chapter/episode/battle' is fairly short though and you always return to base thereafter before setting off again. So it's very much not like an rpg in such a sense, as it breaks up the flow of the game quite a bit (more than I would like to be honest), but it's an enjoyable game nonetheless. Character customizing, crafting, equipment, all the rpg stuff etc is all on the lite side but visually it all looks quite appealing. With massive bosses and lots of flashy special effects going off around you. I think it's a good game but hopefully you won't buy the game thinking it may be something it's not in case my screens are misleading in any way. Smile

@neeger93 I'm using fraps too my friend. Although try getting hold of the newer versions if you are inclined to do so, as I found that the older versions won't work on some newer games. It's very easy to use and can also record video files with sound too and display the frame rate in games.

Got access to the institute after doing way (way) too many missions for the railroad just to make sure we're still on good terms, with that out of the way I guess it's soon time to choose which faction to ultimately ally with and then how that might play out to ultimately finish the game.

I wonder if the player Vicks inhabits the hump. I joined his team yesterday and he's one of the few idiots that inhabit this game. One of those Shit players that bark out orders and blame others but in actual fact he's a bit shit himself Very Happy

Actually this game is pretty rampant with dicks. They sound off because things aren't done their way and because they think their way is the best way and only way. erm why?...
They sound off when they die then start blaming everyone around them. It puts me off playing actually when teamed with such people. Usually it's the players that are not all that which are the most vocal. It's a fun game otherwise but a large part of the player base are tards.

Not the best looking game technically wise, since it's based on the good ol' Ego, but overall the attention to details is pretty insane, especially when it comes to environments and textures.

It does appear to have very "clean" visuals though (Which I really like.) unlike some of the earlier Codemaster racing games relying heavily on shader effects and post-processing. Smile

Still a lot left before this game is finished but it's getting there although it might take another year or two at the least.

EDIT:

(From http://www.weirdwildrealm.com/f-cartoon-stereotypes2.html )

Yeah I don't know, I guess these "Cobolds" are meant to be more alien looking but the first thing that came to mind when I found them was this stereotypical "negro" caricature from old comics and cartoons.
