One of the complaints with this game was the large amount of jaggies even with SMAA turned on. Recently someone fixed that by creating a mod that adds TAA:

Playing this in 720p/stereoscopic 3D and on a large projector screen, proper AA is God under these conditions Very Happy

Still.. Very offensive this hasnt had a proper VR release, especially given they made a VR demo for the DK2.

Very nice, tried it already, works as advertised and makes an already visually impressive game even more... well,... impressive Smile

Wish I wasn't a fucking sissy who runs screaming every time that alien farts in the vents - stuck at medical wing for a year or so Smile

@Don_Stu

C'mon man, how damn hard is to use some flares / noise makers to lure away that alien and do your thing?!

tbh would also say the medical bay is the peak of the games suspense.

I now use 3D Vision glasses, it works a lot better than if you only have the glasses that comes with the TV (i played like that for a while too).. but you can use them too with TriDef. https://www.tridef.com/ You will probably get some ghosting though..

I can highly recommend 3D Vision 2 instead, i got mine really cheap (used).

The Witcher 3 and this game is absolutely amazing with 3D Vision, GTA V looks stunning too. It has a very active community (http://helixmod.blogspot.se/) So the support for games is quite good.. i actually didnt bother with 3D Vision (even though im a big fan of stereoscopic gaming) when it was new due to the poor support. I'd recommend this over Vive or Occulus even Razz yes you dont get headtracking but you get amazing stereoscopic 3D at a very cheap price (if you meet certain requirements, though you can do EDID overrides too for some displays)

You need TriDef, if i remember correctly it came with a built in profile for Alien Isolation. If not you can download a profile for it on their forums. just google tridef isolation if so..

I don't recall there being any post processing effects that I couldn't remove. I wish other games would take cue from it.

The only sources for blur or noise would be chromatic aberration, some sort of anti aliasing and the film grain/noise. All of those you should be able to switch off. The game looked pretty "clean" as far as I remember.

There is one, barrel distortion, but the temporal AA mod removes that already according to it's read-me file. Smile

TAA, downsampling to make up for the blur, grain and CA off, some Reshade to tweak levels/exposure, and the image quality reaches the god-like status. PC Master Race

I'll reserve all this for my second future playthrough, the engine is well optimized and hopefully there shouldn't be any problems performance wise. Razz (pants on the other hand..)

The game also does "proper" downsampling or well whatever to call it. Very Happy

You can just input any resolution and the game will use it and scale to your monitors native. Smile
(Which as far as I can remember is rarely used at all, I can only think of Crysis 1 doing it back in 2007 and also Elder Scrolls Online yeah for some reason that game does downsampling this way.)

(UE4 and Frostbite technically also allow for a resolution slider to supersample but it's generally - always? - percentage based instead of setting a resolution directly.)

People get sick from everything. Low fps, low fov, camera going up and down. Just let things be as an option.

There's a chance. http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/european-boss-jurgen-post-on-sega-s-return/0172392

Quote:
“VR has caught the whole company’s attention,” Post explains. “We have a lot of VR kits in the office and people are playing with it. We are exploring ways to release games. We’ve not announced anything, but we are very close to making an announcement. We did Alien: Isolation about three years ago on Oculus Rift, it was a demo that was bloody scary. To bring that back to VR would be a dream and dreams can come true.

“VR will take time, but we will start releasing some titles just to learn. It is a platform for the future.

This heavily hints to a revamped VR mode or new release
