I haven't read the thread for fear of spoiling the game. Do I need a Vpn every time or something?

@Tungsten
NO!
That's the good thing. Very Happy

You can play the game exactly the same as if you bought it overpriced in your homeregion.
Multiplayer works exactly the same too.

Thanks to Oakwind, i´m able to play the game in all its (questionable) glory, beeing invaded and doing Coop things and all. Its really, really good this time around. I know that having working MP clouds my judgement a bit since some acitvities really get the heartrate up but all in all, its a much better game than part 1.

Once i´m done playing (have maybe 20% atm) and i figured the UplayAccount out, i have no problem lending the account/game to some humper who wants to play it btw. Paying it forward so to speak since Oak was so generous and i feel like i don´t really deserve it

and cpu wrecking area they used in pclab.pl benches is driving over the bay bridge towards the haum data center. the transition into the city area will choke the cpu for a second or so.

Defending against a hacker was so damn easy anyways for me. Out of maybe 15 invasions only one succeeded.

Not sure if it's really that easy to defend, or all of them were rather bad. But i think the first one.

After playing this for about 6h, gotta say its the most boring ubifail game they made; nothing interesting about the game, the city is just empty and lifeless, the driving is terrible, the missions not fun, the chars all annoying and so on. I liked the first one much more, at least it had an atmosphere and interesting main char and story but this one is just meh. Sad

It does have some nice songs though

Yea it sucked.

In Dark Souls i always started to get goosebumps when i got invaded, because the invader actually puts up a fight and you also lose very much in the worst case.

Here? Everytime i got hacked i looked like this: Reaction
After identifying the hacker i either trolled him a bit by walking near him, making him think i didn't saw him yet. And then knock him down with my wired ballsack.

Or if he is fleeing, just 2 shots from that Igor sniperrifle to his car and he was done for.

Yep, even if it had an annoying voice, Aidan is much more interesting than the derp dedsec team. The story was ok with the revenge part, at the time i thought it was meh, but after seeing what happens in w_d2, suddenly got better Laughing

NO you suck Mad

I understand what you mean though. I personally prefer this one because they make fun of everything. The Aiden character and his story was utterly boring.

I feel the same way, its a shame most people can't appreciate WD1 and all the great things it had.

WD2 is basically WD1 with some extra graphical effects and campaign.

Whats missing is an interesting story and fun invade gameplay.

What I find embarrassing is the physics, people and environment is something out of GTA 3. You would think they would want to invest in something very awesome since their idea is to just slap a new campaign on the game and release a sequel.

Have you driven in the game at all?

Have you seen physics objects and what they do?

Have you seen how basic everything is?

GTA IV surpasses everything easily, GTA V completely destroys it.

As you see above i finished the game.
And writing somelike "physics out of gta 3" is just plain dumb.

I never got the impression at all that physics were dumbed down. Quite the opposite, as you can destroy pretty much every object on the streets.

Beating people up felt good too.

Driving felt strange, depending on the vehicle. Bust most of the time it was more than fine.
This is no fucking driving simulator.

I've enjoyed both watch doge games. the core gameplay has been improved and expanded in this one. The tone of the lore and the story was changed into a light hearted one. those are really the two big main differences between the two games. A shift in tone, and expansion/improvement of the gameplay code in place.

But then again, I have a very long gradation scale when it comes to appreciating games. It takes quite a few flaws for a game to drop into the negatives.

Also, the UEP subgenre is very interesting to me and not often explored in video games, and surely no game does this better than watch doge 2. Project EDEN is the only other game i'd say did this right. I'd love more games like that.

Well, I said some positive things about the game, but only played it for about 15 hours or so, and the last time I played it was like 3 weeks ago.

I am just not interested to play it anymore, I guess the story is not interesting enough or something. Neutral

Same goes for me, DW was so kind to let me play it and i enjoyed it but havent finished it either since i got bored aswell. Gameplay is improved compared to the first one but i like the story from Aiden more since it was darker and not that hippie shit they pulled off in the second, it just doesnt fit for me with the theme going on.

P.S: I played more, guess around 25-30 hours with around 65-80% completion.

Is there a progress tracker in the game like there was in WD1? I hear people talking about what percentage they're done, but not seen or noticed any indicators in game.

Edit: And of the course the first thing I find when I boot it up is a progress bar in the "Load Game" section. Anything more in depth though, like in WD1?

Same opinion here. I would add that the gameplay is quite repetitive.

Patch Notes: PC Title Update 1.09

Quote:

Today we’re releasing Title Update 1.09 for PC. Xbox One and PS4 received this patch last week.

Below are the fixes you can expect from this PC patch:

• [Performance] RAM Usage Optimization – This patch optimizes a system memory usage which improves the game’s performance on systems with low RAM amount.

• [Performance] Screenspace Reflections Optimization – This patch improves the overall performance of Screenspace Reflections and adds two new lower quality levels (Medium and High).

• San Francisco Fog – The algorithm of the San Francisco Fog (aka “Karl”) appearing is improved with this title update.

• Visual – The maximum value of the Pixel Density slider has been changed from 1.25 to 1.5 with this patch.

• Sound – We have added a Music Volume slider.

• Controller – Added support for the newer DualShock 4 controllers (ZCT2U models).

• YourBoySerge Nerf – This .50 Cal sniper rifle has been the subject of some debate in the community, and is considered to be overpowered in online play. In this patch, we’ve reduced the number of rounds in the magazine from 6 to 1, and we will continue to monitor and balance this beasty rifle.

• Fixed various minor issues with flickering.

• Fixed various minor issues with incorrect window modes behavior.

• Fixed various minor issues with the UI and text.
