Aye, the buccaneerish quality of the release is definitely a solid one (no problems whatsoever on my end), but it's the 1.0 and that means playing with the terror that savegames might allahu akbar themselves..the patient bear will have to wait a bit more Razz

It's an offline-only method so it should be safe, though personally I prefer the ghetto trick with the Codex emulator instead of SSE (the rin rin men have it).

Any suggestions on how to avoid the "save corruption" bug?

Is creating a new save every time sufficient? Or does the corruption fuck up all the save files?
For now I've been backing up my saves manually after I stop playing, so I'd only loose a couple of hours if corruption occurs... wonder if there's anything more I can do?

Nope and no one knows what triggers it anyway, plenty of people completed the game on 1.0 never encountering it or any other bugs, while others got it nonstop.

Maybe excessive quicksaving/loading? Consoles didn't suffer this bug (as much) as on pc.

I used quicksaving\loading a lot. But I always kept deleting old saves once I reached the limit.

6.5/10 for me so far (and I doubt it will change).
Good ideas, yet wrongly and over-used.
Never had a "whoa" moment (except at the very beginning). Rest fell flat around about 1h30 in, and never went better.

TL;DR
Good intentions, tedious result. One playthrough just to know what all the fuss is about, then down in the VG Oubliettes, never to be played again.

Oh the irony considering how many Speed Runs this game had so quickly after launch. It was incredibly easy to just exploit the map flaws and finish all the 6+ endings then waste time on the "distractions". Smug

Eh, this one seems to be polarizing. For me it's a solid 9/10. It'll be years before I see a game like this again. Gotta ease back into the hand-holding linear cinema-shooters now...

Gloo+combat focus = win

Also it can be used to extinguish fires, block electricity or to reach areas that are too high to jump to.

It's for mimics mostly. You can upgrade it, so they will escape in 1.2 seconds.

I started playing yesterday with the yarr version. It runs great and looks pretty good. Thank god that you can change the FoV in the config file, much better! And also the controls and mouse movement are just fine, which is rare these days.

Some moments it reminds me of Bioshock but with less atmosphere. They did a good job with the music though. It's nice that you can go where you want.

i actually dont like it, visuals arent that great, okayish but nothing special, facial animations are bad. guns feel very strange

the whole mimics thing, dunno, they should have taken a different part in the story. so far everything is predictable, i doubt that will change

its not a bad game, but once finished you wont touch it again or even remember it

I'll surely remember this as a disappointing shock-esque game, but I don't see myself replaying this. I thought I'll do another playthrough for some achievements while focusing on powers, but the replay value isn't all that high. To me this means that Prey's gameplay formula ain't that great.

Yeah, graphically its not that good. Espcially that flashlight shining on the weapon makes so many pixels without info (silly, buy 10bit Razz).

The mimic feature is not that big deal.
So far I cant wait to have a little free time to play it. Its a nice bioshock/systemshock wannabe.
Also the Gloo gun feels a bit forced to me. Nice addition and all but that climbing mechanics are a bit clunky.
