they should do a survey around the setting, like for Far Cry Very Happy Anyone knows if the results for it were shown? I wonder if it had any influence on Primal or it was done already after the setting was chosen. On the other hand, they basically took FC4 and changed the textures Razz

(Riddle of the Sphinx? Fuck no people want visceral action not some shitty complex puzzle.)
(Course it could have a bit of both...)

EDIT: That one looks bigger than Washington's though.
(And just so people know it's Egypt there's some sphinx to the side and a few obelisks in the background among some other landmarks.)

Game Leakformer


All new info:
    • Started working on game before unity
    • Brand new fighting system
    • New A.I.
    • No minimap but a elder scrolls type compass at top
    • No more sprinting button, speed depends on analog stick
    • Crouching is back
    • Story is being kept a secret
    • Eagle vision is a subtle pulse that highlights objects not enemies
    • Takes place during the ascent and reign of cleopatra
    • You can climb everything in the game
    • Large and small cities with many landmarks including Memphis and Alexandria
    • The controllable eagle leak was true
    • NPC's have a day/night cycle and includes time for them to eat, sleep, work, and "answer the call of nature"
    • Attack buttons are the right shoulder and trigger
    • A.I. does not take turns to attack
    • New combat system is more hit-box driven
    • As you fight, an adrenaline gauge fills up, and when both attack buttons are pressed powerful attacks are unleashed
    • Left shoulder button is lock on
    • There are treasures to find in the depths of the water (sunken ships, long-forgotten ruins)
    • Stat element of customization is removed
    • New gear system where players can improve specific parts of your gear by crafting materials
    • Leveling system that has a level cap of 40
    • Bayek is not the only playable character in the game but that character is a secret
    • There are legendary items to loot in the game
    • You can add blocked arrows to your inventory
    • You can no longer one hit enemies that are more powerful than you with your hidden blade
    • Buttons for free-running up and down are removed
    • Puzzles are back but more challenging and less switches
    • Much more in depth ability graph with 3 paths (Seer, Warrior, Hunter)
    • There are gladiator battles in arenas

After all the recent (flabby) attempts and fatigue reaching the pear-shaped stars, an overhaul was definitely a necessity, even Ubi knew it. Now all we have to see is whether the promises will match the contents, something that can't be taken for granted xD

I like the fact that they specified that it seemingly ran better on Scorpio kits then on PC at a steady 30 fps...LMAO!!! WTF are they using??? AN IBM 486??

I mean, who in his right mind thinks for 1 second that High End PC's will underscore the Scorpio ??

Really!!?? loll!! Is this our optimization preview and what to expect as performance ??

They better of learned how to program if your skipping a yearly milk cow. Performance would be priority then game play. Whats the use of having awesome new game play mechanics if you can't run the shit properly...

All they really tested or more like compared was screen resolution as well and how smooth it felt when playing the game but there's usually other differences too although it's not always obvious even if a few game engines make it easier to see just what they turn down on other platforms compared to PC. Smile

IE for the Nintendo Switch and UE4 I believe the default preset has resolution scaling at 0.66 meaning 1/3rd below the display resolution.

For Prey using Cry-Engine the PC version still contains the config files for PS4, XBO and as of the current newest update also the PS4 Pro which makes it very easy to compare just what they disable or enable. Smile
(The PS4 Pro config file still has a lower LOD setting than PC but compared to the PS4 config they do re-enable a number of settings, SSR is also enabled but not at full resolution.)


EDIT: For Anvil in Assassin's Creed though the config file tends to be pretty minimal, no way to override the extremely poor LOD setting for example used since AC2 or some such.
(Unity and Syndicate do look pretty nice though, at least from street level.)

No need for Xray vision when you can sync with a drone above you and see everything everywhere.

Haha! Yup, when it comes to this type of product, popamole-ish compromises and directions/little challenge will always be the priority, the "designers" will always find a common naif way to brute-force implement specific AAA "next gen" features no matter the (lack of) logic Very Happy
(Same for the possible ditching of the iconic fifo® system for the AI, who knows what kind of trickery will replace it)
On the bright side, Ubi has learned recently to allow for some sort of customization when it comes to Hud elements, markers and silly visions which makes things a bit less herpderp - unless the game in question is a lost cause, which is a frequent scenario Okay Laughing
