I think the story / campaign is kind of basic, I see it more as a tutorial for the game.

I think the big difference is the story, and I don't really play it for the story. They're not to different.

On one hand, you got to give Egosoft credit for regular content updates to their games, even after years since release. On the other hand, why the fuck are they still wasting precious manpower on this failure? When every single one of their games end up being too ambitious for their small studio to polish well?

I admit, it would be really nice to check out the stations and civilian traffic in VR.
Then I'd immediately remember why the game is a pile of shit and go back to drinking the memories away.
Just let this one go Egosoft. Everyone would be happier. Stop wasting man-hours on this and work on a worthy sequel to the old series, please.

Remembering the horribly ugly faces in this game, I have no desire to see them in 3d/VR lol.

They have a free weekend on Steam for the franchise. Decided to give the VR Stillbirth a go. Somehow they managed to fuck even that up.
In other games, VR gives a huge immersive advantage over monitor-gaming. In Subnautica, you haven't lived until you swim along reefbacks and see how truly colossal they really are. In Elite Dangerous the station interiors are a magnificent sight to behold, and flying through rings of planets is an experience one don't soon forget.
Here, it feels like nothing's changed. I expected to see the stations as the colossal complexes they should be. Nope, the sense of scale was pretty meh. The controls are ok I guess. If I were to stick with it, it would need some time getting used to, but it would be functional I guess, just a whole lot more clunky than the vanilla already was.
