|ose this fight. The voices even tell you to give in
I wish it wasn't made as "rough" as it was..
Spoiler:
waves of enemies and the boss at the center of the arena you can't even touch?
This fight could have been done in a more elegant, beautiful and thought provoking way
I guess that's one of the key aspects of the game... Putting yourself into her head..
Spoiler:
The voices told me/her so many times to give up, why would we listen to them now?
I'll repeat what I said earlier... Fantastic journey but the ending wasn't handled with as much care and elegance as the rest of it. It's a pity, I can forgive a lot of roughness in the overall gameplay because the character, story, dialog and journey were so damn amazing, but for me the ending was its biggest stumble. i did, however, looove the start of the finale...
Spoiler:
Where the music swells, the focus attacks become much more powerful as you storm towards hela, and you can just feel the energy and senuas determination... That bit was great, but the fights that came after the initial Aran/platform, and everything else really, just wasn't quite right.
What's there not to like about the ending? I mean you really expected a
Spoiler:
normal Happy Ending or something like it? after all of this, really?
The game couldn't end in any other way imho it's perfect in it's own way, just google an explanation if you didn't understand all of it.

no, quite the opposite,
Spoiler:
i was expecting a very crushing ending.
i guess i didnt like how we snap back to.. i guess, what we ASSUME is finally reality.. and shes just in some non-descript place, and its like 'yup, was all a dream, im much better now that ive faced my dark inner self and have found my strength and belief in myself, yay!' and then walks off into the light.
I did like some aspects of it, i appreciated how the voices didnt 'magically 'disappear, and she still has some 'ticks' about her condition that remain and stuff...
i GOT it, i just wasnt satisfied by how some of it was handled. I expected that we would at least be back in her village all this time, or even that we HAD journeyed to a viking village and were just slaughtering innocent farmers or whatever, while our mind turned it into a journey into hel.. ANYTHING but just a snap back to reality as if nothing occurred and it was all 'just a dream'.
I just needed where she physically was to mean something to the narrative - like i said,
either back at the foot of her lover as if she never even made it out of there, or her hallucinations covering very real actions she has taken...
i got, and appreciated, the emotional side of the ending. I just felt the physical practical reality of it was a complete non-entity.
you clearly disagree, but that was what i felt i really needed to perfectly cap off my experience.

Finished.
The gameplay was tedious and a bit boring at times but overall I really liked the game. Especially atmosphere, music, graphics and story.
It reminded me about spec ops a lot. In a good way
edit:
Spoiler - One of best cutscenes ever. Whole game was had this amazing cutscenes but this is just mesmerizing and stayed with me after finishing the game. Just the presentation..

what bug did jimbo have? i didnt have any bugs in my playthrough.
He missed a checkpoint near the end on part where you avoid the dark... I mean he missed the torch relit and died upon loading checkpoint each time.
I also had a bug. Senua was on fire all the time. Even after surt ilusions. Bit reloading helped

that would have really gutted me if id had that bug.
only 'problem' i had... and i dont know if id call it a bug..
Spoiler:
during that bit where youre chased by an entity that sets you on fire while you search for three lit runes in a maze.. i think its in the swamp bit? anyway i got caught even though i thought i was far enough away (it was in a really shitty area where no matter which way i went, the thing seemed equidistant away) - anyway, soon as i reloaded the area, the entity was immediately coming at me again and it was so close that the visual distortions fucked me up to the point i couldnt see where i was going and almost immediately died again. seemed a bit unfair to me.
really annoying but thankfully only happened once. Im glad that my playthrough was bug free. i had the occasional gameplay annoyance with combat (getting pinned, unable to move, dodge move not working properly or as smoothly/quickly as i needed), but yeah... enjoyable experience not plagued with shit like i have been in some other games.

Incredible - Team only consisted of 13 people and they need to sell 200/300 copies to get even.
In the video they also explain that, because they do not have publisher and do not need to print copies and put on shelves, the game can easily be 30$ and that's fine.
I think what they did is amazing. Unreal Engine 4 seems super easy and customizable to work with too.
This shows even more how incompetent some huge aaa publishers are.
And it's shame seeing it receive scores just the same as call of duty crap...
Also - the real life model for Senua is Melina Juergens

the difference between 200-300 thousand is QUITE the margin.
either way, 100k already for a narrative driven single player game that isnt part of a franchise, is pretty good. They should make their target i think.
Yeah, it's going well all things considered, the game's already collected more than most of its competitors, and the word of mouth is strong with this one which will help too.
great video...damn nice to see something like this come to life, with all the people involved.. i also really liked the "Stab" to the EA and etc corner.
Thanks for posting this...this, is going into my Archive...
damn, after watching the whole thing, im impressed. what they all did, tested and lenght they went trough.. wow..
I dont know, but this sounds and looks like a step up in the gaming industrie. well, i mean, a kinda new genre of games..

Can't rebind wasd to arrow keys, arrow keys are hardcoded to mouselook even after 1.01 and hotfix.
Autohotkey fixes this but I can't believe it still happens
Blame Epic it's in UE4 as a default setting, Ninja Theory could probably change it if they really wanted but then again who even uses the arrow keys keys for movement these days
I do, it's whatever one is used to. I can game both ways but I prefer arrows.
Played competitive like that as well so don't bother with that bullshit elitism of wasd vs arrows on me.
