Bought the game after 10 or so hours playing with yarrr version.
I simply like almost everything about the game and it plays damn nice on gamepad which is a big plus for me. I suck at the game, but fun factor is unbelievably high

It's good practice for me as well, since I just bough a wheel, I can play around and get used to it. After 1-2 attempts at the ring with a powerful car, i'm all sweat and hands hurt - so tense!
There is demo available and driving model, immersion and freedom of customisation of literally everything can't even come close to PC2.
I really tried with Forza 7, but it is just bad and now when i've tried PC2 there is no way im giving it another chance.
Likewise, there isn't even a competition as far as I'm concerned, Forza is simply too gamey and approximative to be considered a proper opponent. It gets universally praised for being complete and polished, when it's essentially a synonym for lack of depth both in terms of driving model and track design.
PC2 has definitely shifted towards a more simulative side, it's not a pure sim yet but most of the cars handle in a believable way and require attention and precision if one wants to succeed. Rough AI aside, it's pretty much the most complete driving experience on PC in terms of full package (cars/physics/tracks - without forgetting the dynamic weather - missing in practically all the simulations). A jack of all trades and..actually master of several stuff as well , expectations weren't high but everything went better than expected.
There is anyway something wrong inherently mid-low performance road cars (such as Clio etc.): they seem too oversteering for their nature. Or is it just me?
Anyway, it seems there's a problem with 1.1.3.0 patch, with lack of FFB on the kerbs, which has been already addressed with a 1.1.3.1 patch.
A certain Crime Scene Investigation forum keeps all files updated on this matter

I have the same as well, it's the whole on eggshell treatment again. While I can drive it without messing up it takes an immense amount of focus. Harder than driving a Macca in PC1
Haven't tried fiddling with the setup, maybe that could help... but yeah another series that sucks.
This sim has so much going for it been really enjoying what I've driven so far. Even the rallycross is good fun.
But the fucking AI MAN! I use 110 strength and 60 aggression and it goes from being decent but lacking nuance to absolutely trash in the span of 2 races.
My last race at snetterton in the rain I was about 15 seconds per lap faster then them
I've seen people say the AI is massively inconsistent for each car/track/weather combination. Haven't played enough myself to confirm but sounds about right.

This.
And btw it was the exact same in pCars 1.
Won't hold my breath on them fixing it then. Back to automobilista I go for now. I will miss the weather effects and nice graphics though
Coincidentally enough they've just today improved the already good AI in automob with blue flag logic and some other stuff. Also funky oldskool brazilian touring cars!
I have so much fun with this game, but some things need fixes asap:
The qualifying is strange! During the qualifying it's impossible to keep up with anybody, yet after driving very carefully I still end up taking the pole position, even though everybody drives a little faster than I do? (70% AI Strength, 50% agressivity) And during the race I win with 6+ seconds on a two lap race
And in one race I was in pole position and as soon as the race starts it says I'm on last position and this didn't change even though I overtook people again. Had to restart the race.
During some hardcore snow situations the AI suddenly drives like a retard. You can try this: Donington Park, 2 Laps, Snow season, 2PM, time of day acceleration 30x+, 2 weather (light, heavy snow or blizzard), weather acceleration 30x+, 21 opponents, honda civic type r, everything set to simulation and assists to real. The AI basically drives 50km/h after the heavy snow/blizzard hits
The liveries and menus look boring. It's a real shame, this game looks so great, but the car previews look even worse than in life for speed... And the "show room" is just a black void.
Also on Donington Park there is only one type of snow coverage on the track. Really bland... There is much room left for improvement, but I guess work on PCars 3 already started
But then you switch to the all wheel, no assists, megane r.s. and race around the corners.. boyeeeeee, this feels amazing
Is there a way to unlock the GT championship without first driving the previous one?
Now i'm driving the maserati in career with all assists off and with opponents on 30% and i'm having massive problems to finish top 5.
Never had that in other racing games, no idea why it is so difficult now.
No buy for me, it's a bit all over the place. Will demo it and get it in a bundle/discount later on.
There are classes/tracks I enjoy and others that are just a clusterfuck. It really gets silly when on one track the settings are just right for the A.I. and then the next race it's like they are turned to 0 or to 100.
Still good if you're into lap time racing I guess, but I'm not that into it.
Looks good to me, but I've got yify standards for videos so I'm not very reliable

Reiza are indeed the only ones that put a lot of efforts into the AI these days. It's not a flawless implementation of course but there's a risk calculation algorithm that takes into account the corner radius, proper awareness, overtaking routines and the consistent times that one would expect from each category.
In practically all the other modern driving games AI is either an afterthought (not tested enough) or simply something that's there for the sake of completeness, it's a shame. In Project Cars 2 the issue is even more noticeable because of all the dynamic situations with extreme weather and the amount of classes available, the game once again needed (much) more development time to iron out all the oddities, but I suspect that it's not a priority for the team. It's something that *could* be easily fixed though, the unrealistic performances at least, but do they really want to fix it? Only time will tell
