Game is fun men. At least on the first playthrough.
There seems to be a memory leak somewhere though, things get noticeably janky after 2-3 hours. Restarting makes it butter smooth again.

Hm, i must be blind.
How can you enable the FPS counter? |
Open Settings -> Gameplay
The last entry in Gameplay, right above the category of Text Chat, has the option FPS Display. You'll get a small green counter on the upper right of your screen.

Played this yesterday for a few hours. Sadly i don't really feel the game.
Mostly the multiplayer aspect i'm missing. You only see people in that town (where you can't even fucking communicate globally), or at public events.
But outside of those you are just running around solo.
Also loading times seem rather long for me, even when installed on a SSD.
// On the other hand combat feels rather good. Even though melee seems OP when you can one shit most grunts with your fist. |
Just to add to this, I have the game set to High, with most settings at maximum, but I beleive I turned off the 3D AO that really seems to kill framerate, along with highest shadows - that's on High.
On a 1080 I can run the game on 200% scaling at 144Hz with no bother. It looks sweet too I have to say.

You can turn on FPS display on the game settings no need for 3rd software.
But I agree you shouldn't be banned for that...
Also played first level.. The A.I is bad as fuck... And WTF Bungie?
And I am hoping it gets improvement as you progress.

I've played two days now with MSI Afterburner + RTSS, Steam, and GeForce Experience all enabled in terms of overlays/script-hooks. Granted, none of the overlays work (not even Battle.net's own overlay) , but they are all most definitely running in the background - no ban (**knock on wood** )
There might be some false positives slipping through the crack somewhere (perhaps Windows Gamebar overlay?), but I've got a feeling that the majority of those bitching about "instant bans" are just dirty fucking cheaters. Even if they haven't cheated in Destiny, perhaps they have in other games, and they've got some .reg entries or files strewn about somewhere on their drive that's setting off the flag. I'm not saying that those kind of deep system scans are warranted, but it's a small price to pay to not have to deal with shit-stains.
Out of curiosity, has anyone here that's played it been banned? Also, what's the prevailing theory on how Blizzard's Overwatch anti-cheat works? (with people replacing hardware/networking gear fully and still getting smited?) Seem's like Blizzard has things figured out on that front!
Here's Bungie's updated statement on the matter -
https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/46426
Quote: |
Destiny 2 cannot automatically ban you, only Bungie can ban a player after a manual investigation
Yesterday, we banned approximately 400 players on PC
Bans were applied to players who were using tools that pose a threat to the shared ecosystem of the game (so very vague).
We did not (and will not) issue any bans for the use of overlays or performance tools, including Discord, Xsplit, OBS, RTSS, etc.
Information on using third-party applications can be found here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/46101
We are overturning 4 of the bans that were issued during the PC Beta
Update: As part of our ban review process, we have identified a group of players who were banned in error. Those players have been unbanned. The bans were not related to the third-party applications listed above. We will continue to review the process we use to ensure a fun and fair game.

'A group of players' strongly suggests to me they were indeed running something in the background that Bungie's super-secret anti-everything system decided was naughty, and sent the necessary information to the Bungie Ban Hammer.
While D2 might not autoban anyone, I bet that Bungie's servers have an autoban system when a flag is sent by the client - so TECHNICALLY D2 didn't ban anyone.
It's a poor show, marred by terrible communication and an unwillingness to admit an error. Standard for the course though, tbh, it seems companies want to appear infallible, when the rest of the world know that simply isn't true.

tried to play it yesterday.
sadly from time to time i just can't jump anymore. nothing happens when i press the jump button.
also supercharged is activated without pressing anything. sometimes right after it's available sometimes after 20-30 seconds.
realized i still had my beta config since all controls were still changed like i want them to.
so i thought maybe that is the reason for my weird bugs and so i just deleted the config file.
now i can't remap numpad + enter in the options anymore (it worked fine in the beta) and so it's unplayable for me.
i can re add my old config and play without jump and randomly activated supercharged or just play with gamepad now. awesome. thank god i didn't payed anything for this.

Nobody can map keys to their numpads via the in-game config - it was listed as a Day 1 Issue. Which is pretty fucking embarrassing but par for the course in the AAA industry.
I'm using a program called Glovepie 0.43 to remap the keys I want on my pad. I have it set to when I push numpad 0, for example, my keyboard outputs E as well. Technically a macro, but I don't see what harm it could do. I've used it forever when faced with shitty developers not knowing that a numpad is part of a fucking keyboard!
Most people use AutoHotKey....but I can't vouch for that one as the scripting seemed a lot more complicated. Plus, who knows if they ban for it or not.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.
