So you're basicvally saying it's the absolute opposite of FF X and XIII - where the open world stuff comes AFTER the linear bit, but in FFXV it's BEFORE the linear stuf? Intersting way about doing it...

dont set everything to ultra. deactivate gameworks shadowlibs and set shadows to the second high settings. vram usage will drop from maxxed out 8gb (which shouldnt result in crashes but constant massive framedrops when it rebuffers) to little above 4gb @ fullhd with everything else set to max (without the hd pack!)
Will try lowering some settings.
Though 8GB VRAM should be more than enough for 1080p. I'm not even using the 4k Textures, and the graphics itself don't look that special anyways.

Aye, I feel cheated.
My own fault I guess, should have done more research but didn't want to see spoilers.
you can of course return to the open world bit after finishing the story. there is even a mission that leads to getting a flying car, which is incidentally set at the same level as the last boss fight. whether that endgame content is worth it is of course another story.

Well the story was loosely inspired by Hamlet so there was no other way for it to end anyway, i wish they had better writers and the story wasn't so rushed i find the idea of a Hamlet adaption (or other classics FFXII does something similar with "The Hidden Fortress" for example) in this kind of setting pretty intriguing if done well which clearly isn't the case here.
emphasis on "loosely". aside from killing your father's killer, i don't really see the connection. the whole "to be or not to be" soliloquy is more about people fearing what comes after death, while the antagonist is just sick of it all and wants to end it. on the heroes' side you have the usual "be united in the acterlife, yay" crap which would count as self-defense against aforementioned fear in the real world, but this is final fantasy where it actually works - see last small cutscene.
wherever they pulled their inspiration from, like XII (which also has some striking similarities with star wars and there the director quit halfway during development), it falls apart somewhere in the middle and they never manage to tie characters and plot lines together, so they just make up some epic shit for the finale and hope people will be distracted by the shiny graphics. same way as in XIII, but that one was just a clusterfuck all the way, so no one noticed
hi dudes, so the release has been nuked ?
any reasons ?
Is the game on usenet ?
Thanks
I don't know if it has been nuked but per scene rules it's actually not allowed to use leaked or otherwise acquired drm free executables in scene releases and codex used the leaked debug exe in this release so yes per scene rules it should probably be nuked, apart from that the release is fine more then that actually since a drm free exe is a good bit better then a Denuvo bypassed one and it's not like anyone actually gives a crap about scene rules these days.

FFVII and FFVIII were like that too: first a linear part, then semi-open world.
In FFXV, I played it for a few hours on PS4 but the open world didn't grip me. It was a joke compared to something like The Witcher 3 and felt too action-focussed. TW3 added lots of stuff to do besides combat but in the hours I played FFXV, I saw little to encourage me to explore.
The point of the last part is that it is meant to be shit. It's partially by design to almost not be enjoyable to go through it. It was relatively not finished and they could have done more to it, but if you think about what was going on the in the story, it made sense the game turn 180 from the "Bros on a road trip" to "everything is shit, no one is having fun".
That said, if you don't buy into the situation and felt invested in the characters and the story at that point, the last few chapters are definitely not going to be tolerable.
The more i keep reading about the last parts of the game, the less i have the desire to play this.
It's like MGS5 all over again.
That's really not the same MGS5 is a game without an ending the complete last part is missing, FFXVs last part was just lackluster and it's at least partially fixed now (yes it was far worse at release...) and the ending itself is actually pretty good and one of my favorites in the series.

Sorry but that is a load of crock, one doesn't have to put in shit gameplay, putting the story on a rail and unfinished cobbled together environments to achieve the tone that the world has gone to shit. Partially by design? More like: the game was in development hell and Square didn't feel like putting in even more time to fix the game.
To BoB, I honestly don't know if you'll be happy in the end. I still like to play around in the first part, approaching it like a Monster Hunter lite. I still think I had for the most part an enjoyable experience but that last part of the game will no doubt give you a sour taste. So it all comes down to how much you liked the game before that.
I lose so much time just walking and driving. Why is this acceptable? Always running to that gay jewel reporter is just awful. Is this supposed to be immersive?
Why do time wasting game play elements get such a pass in games? Why do I have to press ESC -> 2 to skip the fucking refueling animation? Why is there a constant cost to refueling if the rest consists of such realistic immersion walking?
I dont understand the prices in this game. Why does everything seem to be discounted or something? E.g. refueling costs "10 -> 5 gil". Like Wat. Did the game decide I'm an idiot or something and need it?

Just regular fuel fluctuation. Check back in a week when it goes up to 20 then down to 15 then up to 25 then down to 20 until you have 100 gil for gas
No, the discount thing comes from an item you get with the edition you bought. Its some preorder whatevz thing to make you feel special and to only have half the grind for money then the others (which doesnt apply to the PC version at all).
Btw. i really like the music you can buy from all the vendors and then listen to it on the go.
Along with some weapons and armor right? I dont understand why such things aren't optional in games. If I was a developer and added such a bonus I would ask the player at the beginning of the game, if they wanted them or play the bloody originally intended game. Of course this might be a minor thing, but so is a question at the game start.

I gladly accept the half price bonus in this case though.
The soundtrack of older titles are awesome, so I agree , but ill try avoiding car rides as much as I can
You can buy a mp3 player when driving the car, this way you can also enjoy it on the go
And yes, some weapons and accessorys are also included in this version, not needed but nice to have and good replacement for some other stuff like the Magitek v2 armor (believe me, you dont wanna farm that one, total Korean style).
Additional functions
Content support for Twitch Prime members – Kooky chocobo now available to use in game.
Additional in-game option for switching over the Enter/Cancel buttons.
Additional in-game option for border-less full screen.
Bug fixes
NVIDIA Ansel bug fixes.
AMD Phenom II Processors compatibility fixes – FFXV Windows Edition boot up issues now fixed.
Several minor bug fixes.
EDIT: Though XIII-2 might have taken it even further with it's red variant being driven by drugs or something. Had it's own theme too.
There's been worse soundtracks though I suppose both for Final Fantasy perhaps and of course other games such as the credits to Rogue Warrior or that Bayou song from House of the Dead - Overkill.
Spoiler:
(Well I guess it fits the theme of the game.)
(Whereas this sounds more like something for Resident Evil 7 Heh.)
But enough about that though speaking of chunky pussy chicken I do wonder what the Chocobo actually tastes like ha ha.
(Well the phat one is probably a bit inedible but the regular varieties should be fine in all sorts of way. )
Wonder what else they'll be using it for, I doubt they can top the existing noodle-hat but we'll see I suppose.
Swimsuit outfits?
EDIT: Well that might be too elaborate but we'll see I guess, apparently they had a exclusive reskin of some of the weapons on console earlier so probably more along the lines of retextures than full new models or more extensive content additions.
VRAM usage is only about 4GB now with TRAM set to High.
Still runs somewhat unstable though.
Got a crash after defeating some blonde dude in a mech in the first base.
