Only problem I have is it's stupid to install a tablet like that when you could just have a 2din android player that does the exact same stuff for a lot less hassle? |

Pretty much all 2din players are overpriced garbage, unresponsive crap, tablet is much better and cheaper option. Nice stuff bob, ignore stige, what you could expect from a guy who drives american pick up truck, only thing what you install to those is shotgun and rebel flag.

@Bob Barnsen: how connected is that tablet to your car? Can you use some functions of the car from that tablet?

I bought a ODB2 connector for that. But as i wrote earlier, i wasn't really able to read out the more interesting stuff like fault codes.
Though i haven't had the time and mood yet, to try it out again with the cracked Pro version of the app Torque.

It won't do anything more really, you want a much better OBD dongle and app to actually get stuff out of your car. The cheap adapters are really hit and miss most of the time, you can buy 5 "same" adapters and 2 of them might work on one car and 4 on another etc.
BlueDriver is probably one of the best cheap~ish universal adapters that reads basic fault codes for nearly everything with your phone/tablet (+ display various sensor data) and a lot of abs/transmission/airbag stuff too for many brands and more support is being constantly added aswell, which is much more rare for non-manufacturer specific software.
Ofcourse there is no replacement for OpCom/VauxCom but no such thing for Android.
That's why I have a backbag full of manufacturer specific software and OBD cables with a Win XP laptop in there.
