That's a cheap excuse. Multiple RPGs have done a better job at this having larger worlds which makes it so much easier to break the narrative's fluidity. From what I'm seeing, the developers put no effort into this.

It's not an uncommon problem as it requires some work from the developers. But if you start making a game like this, you should think about this first. I mean, come on, indie studios that kickstart their games are doing this 10 times better.

On a positive note, I love the audio part of the game. The voice acting is so consistent and so well done that I manage to ignore the weird lip sync and facial expression most of the times. Very Happy The music is absolutely beautiful mixing cello and violin with modern bits. The song from the bridge is absolutely thrilling.

Just like Deadfire, though I don't recall you finding that to be an issue then lol

I thought that might come up and I'm glad it did. Deadfire is a much cheaper game with a much larger scope as an RPG. However, in Deadfire actions can happen backwards and still have an effects on conversation. It doesn't work all the time, but that's for two reasons: 1.Obsidian always had problems in coding this properly; 2. The writing in Deadfire is lazy sometimes. Nevertheless, there are many instances where prior actions get different results and I've never been locked out of content because of such problems. In Vampyr, the story doesn't acknowledge any of my exploratory actions. The protagonist asks questions about characters that he has met like he never seen them in his life.

Yes, you are being hypocritical.

I on the other hand have pointed out what I hate about the game, and the reason I didn't bring up the sequencing like you did is because other games I play have the same issue and I understand why it would be a pain to cover that.

But no Obsidian can do no wrong I guess.

I even said in the post above that even Deadfire has this issue. But it's not at as such a scale because, like with many other RPGs, the devs have tried at least partially to make things work both ways. Vampyr's environment is much more enclosed so it should have been easier to deal with this. Even more so when the game's focused on the choices made and their consequences for each group of NPCs.

Is there the "Evil" ending? Not just bad (as in you failed), but something like in Arcanum or Vampire Redemption or something. Laughing

There's a good ending, a semi-good, a bad, and an evil one.

What was worth what? Not killing anyone? Only if you like sapp...happy endings. But it's a challenge , I must say. Sometimes I just ran away from the mobs, I was like level 20 and they hit me with 35, and combat xp is meh Laughing

Yes, Codex released a fix for that, it is basically their steam_api.ini with that Offline=1

Just to clear it up for anyone still confused.

More enclosed? It's basically just quests and the faction system in Deadfire where I can offer a response to something I have no idea about.

Deadfire just skips the introduction part by the quest giver and just assumes you already know about it.

Anyway, quitting for now and will be restarting the game because fucking hell are the dialog options vague as fuck.

I thought that was the ideal choice because I managed to unlock it, but it just plunged the district into chaos. The wording should have been more specific about what bits of memory were to be wiped.

Also the UI sucks, and they really should give quest items a proper name. Like Bernard's watch or something because I accidentally sold a watch and now the quest it is tied to is completed. Eugh.
