guess my ending kinda sucked
- dan killed and bandit factory gone
- red fighter gone after x years
- otradnoye gone after x years
- krazno town no progress at all
- only peregon thrived
Is there a cool ending if you
Spoiler:
ally with the death gangs?
Btw this game needs some fog of war; in those huge ass bunkers it was a letdown since you could see everything
- Dan is a cool guy, makes Otradnoye and surrounding wastes safe. His men are known to be honest and capable mercenaries. Factory is rebuilt as fort.
- Otradnoye thrives under Katya. It's a good town for honest, hard working people. Dan's protection is actual protection, not a racket.
- Peregon thrives because there was no civil war.Haven for merchants.
- Red Fighter thrives, becomes bigger than Krasnoziemny. You and the other guy get a statue built in your honor.
- Krasnoziemny chokes a little under ATOM military rule. Rebuilds and progresses though (no idea why, told the guys to sod off and not take over). Some people leave.
- Shroomites disperse, some die, some keep helping people.
- Fidel goes back to ATOM, later dies fighting enemies from the north; Hexagon writes one good book, one bad; Parasite Alex goes around the wastes fighting, fucking and generally having fun. Dog died early, so no ending if there was one
-You travel the wastes with scientists and the like (to find a way to stop the comet, probably)
Or if I choose to let the ENDBOSS live, I get something similar to your ending.

Corned Meat: Cured Meat
I've been playing most of the game with the quality zip gun. It takes 9mm bullets instead of the homemade ones, so plenty of ammo to find. And in combination with feats (+20% dmg for homemade guns, -1 action point for handguns & no jamming), it's all I'll ever need
('No jamming' is a must when using AP bullets, it seems)
My main character has 10 action points per turn (high dexterity), so I can shoot 5 times per turn.
Tonight, we offer you our newest patch, numbered 1.07.
We worked on it for quite a while, so we really hope you will like what it brings to the game.
Here is the log of the main changes:
Reworked random encounters, changed fight balance. WIP.
Added new map - ATOM base - and tutorial.
Fixed car bugs.
Stock renew on save-load fixed.
Circus location bugs fixed, now quests are correctly given out and failed.
VIL-A fixed.
Xander P-603 fixed.
Informer fixed.
Castle leader’s quest line fixed, consequences added to different approaches.
Peregon’s government quest fixed, now you can correctly dispose of every leader.
You can now get to the ship in Krasnoznamenny while playing the Chaos route.
Minor bug fixes in all major settlements.
Typos and weird phrasing fixed in parts of the translation. WIP.
New recipe books for crafting.
Better optimization of the game.
Companions AI improved.
You'll still sweat if you give any of your companions a weapon with burst mode, and you're standing too close to them
You can order your companions to move to a desired tile or attack a specific target. If you let the AI take care of this, the companions will most likely shoot each other to death.

Hover over a companion, hold left click, a menu will appear. You can order them into stances, make them move to a position, show them who they have to shoot and turn melee combat on/off.

Finally finished it after 68+ hours. It would be a great game if they had reworked the combat, it was a random mess for me. I could easly die having lvl 21 and best armor in game in the first turn.
All the time I had this feeling that I have messed up my character build. Otherwise it was pretty solid excluding the mmo style quests.

Is this better than Underrail or is it about the same level? Underrail was a good effort, but got old too fast for me.
I have not played this one but feel based on the reviews it’s isodemo worthy. I got excited when they dropped the switch version but the reviews I watched mentioned enough performance problems and downgrade/compromises that I passed until I can try it on PC. As much as the PC being the best medium regardless of perfect port status or not - I just find myself gaming on the switch primarily these days.
Edit: Apparently it was late and drunk as I thought I was in the Wasteland Thread

I just couldn't get into Underrail, but Atom RPG felt like going back to the classic Fallout days. It's far from being as good, but it definitely gives the right vibes that I missed in Underrail.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
From what I read, the combat takes the worst element of FO2 and amplifies it. What I hated about FO2, is how a critical headshot always insta-killed you, no matter how good you were. It made combat a constant quicksave. From what I hear, they added stunlocking and other stuff to make it even worse here. Not sure I'm going to try this game if that's the case.

The biggest difference between Underrail and Atom RPG is the setting and type of atmosphere that it generates, which also affects the gameplay and exploration. Underrail is all about navigating through a maze-like gloomy underground world, it's claustrophobic and genuinely disorienting, though not in a bad way since there's always a nice element of surprise waiting around the corner (a global map was introduced some patches ago also). It feels pretty unique and the combat is really solid, albeit the environments might get repetitive.
Atom RPG is fundamentally the Russian version of Fallout through the Cykawastelands, with a rewarding open post-apocalyptic scope, fledged out interactions and some clever ways to resolve quests in multiple ways since stats do matter. For me they're both very good in their own way, in the end they complement each other quite nicely.
Here's a cinematic trailer we made for the upcoming ATOM RPG - Dead City Update. Only two days to go. See you on the 29th! Available for Linux, Mac OSX, and Windows.
