Game has the same washed out colors as Dark Souls 3 since it also uses a 11-244 black level range instead of the full 0-255 https://steamcommunity.com/app/814380/discussions/0/1850323802573052780/
fixable with reshades levels shader.
Dunno why Japanese devs do this so often Nier:Automata and a lot of other games had exactly the same issue.

I watched some boss fights videos and I really don't like this posture system. For instance, when you fight one of the lady bosses most of the time you can't even reduce her health with your attacks, she deflects practically everything (and you'd better know how to deflect her furious attacks or else..). So the fight goes on like this:
- hitdeflecthitdeflecthitdeflect just to break her posture=> one-shot kill her.
Rinse and repeat.
Who the fuck thought it was a good idea?

Every 3rd hitr she does with the foot stomping down on the ground you can get an easy hit in to reduce hp, and shurkiens when shes flying, and when she does her grab attack, either shurkien her, or dodge quick to the side and hit her in the opening, once hp is down posture wont regen fast at all

. . .honestly. You're meant to break the hell out of here posture with the step-dodge. I was whittling her down by waiting for those opening and the fight just goes on too long. I did the stepdodge to the left (her right) and just kept getting counter-attacks in.

Fuck butterfly boss.... it's ridiculous and not fun... Getting rid of stamina management and introducing posture was a huge mistake. The boss fights turn into a chore.

And it's the same for every mini-boss and boss fight. Wow. Super fun!
Having problems with deflecting\parrying etc? You'd better refund the game.
The game seems pretty shallow content-wise compared to DS series.
I dunno what the fuck were they doing for 3+ years.

Gameplay\builds diversity is fun.

what i do dislike is the dragon rot thing
mostly because for some players who are bleeding hearts and don't want their npc 'friends' to suffer, everytime i die the first time to an enemy, i have to run all the way back to a statue to rest so i don't increase dragon rot.
which sucks because learning enemy moves and sequences means dying a lot lol
i like the posture system, i think it's a good attempt at trying to represent how a sword fight would go with people parrying and guarding until someone made a mistake which would often be fatal.
that's what i've always wanted games with swords to solve. how to get rid of sword fights where you are hitting the enemy with your super sharp sword 20 times and they're still kicking.
i like this better than KCD's method as it's simpler to control.

You are talking about mon hdr mode right?
Wouldnt using reshade levels shader to expand to 0 255, cause clipping of light and dark colors? Why not just leave it as it is. The game looks the same way on consoles. Maybe they do this because lcd monitors suck when viewing black screen.

is there any reason apart from the unseen respawn thingy to not let dragon rot stack at the beginning when you're still learning the ropes?
i mean lets face it you (as in 'me') are going die a lot anyway, so why spend those droplets each time when you know you're going to die myriads of deaths to the next boss just around the corner.
apart from that im loving it. exploring REALLY feels rewarding in this one. there is almost always a stealthy path around your enemies that allows for a much more strategic approach than in any soulsborne game. the whole verticality and 'openness' of the level design just feels like a fresh addition to the formula

From what i know the sidequests stop while people are sick, but they dont die during the game. But you never know when you can progress sidequests, so i dunno. Just let them suffer i guess.

cant progress quests turn in if they are afflicted with dragonrot, so use it when you need to turn in something, thats kinda all it does (prolly has effect on endings too)
and you might as well ressurect

Truly dying and being sent to an idol, whether you resurrected or not.

For the drunkard you can get aid from an npc in the area. And you can kill enemies like those around bosses guerilla style. Just kill and run until the boss returns to his position.

This crushes out loads of black details. Walls in a dark caves go to 0 black when they should be dark blue with details.
