Oh that's cool, never thought of that. I used the fan mostly for the headless and shichimen, makes them trivial.
Phase 2 you can also use the spear R2>R2 drag move to drag out the centipede from his neck for posture damage.
But yeah I never used any of these "tricks" when I first won. Just take phase 2 slow, run away when he does the scream, bait the lunging attack and move in to attack the side as he sweeps, and if you parry some of the sword attacks from his normal combos he'll finish with a big strike that's easy to dodge and gives a long window to deal damage.

I wonder if anyone beat Armored Warrior on first try? And not by accident...
From just changed the rules for this particular fight? Deathblow never worked like that with any other enemy

You figure out after the first deathblow that you don't do damage and instead push him back, then you notice the open parts of the bridge and it's pretty obvious what you need to do.
I did him on my 2nd try because I fell down myself.

I did. I read there was some trick to him, but it was easy to discover how to do it. He was easy to deathblow and after him crushing walls, it was easy to know what to do.

Going by PS4 trophy percentages, about 15%.
On PC it seems to be about 20%. Maybe because you can cheat :P
31% have beaten the ape on PS4, 39% on steam.

Playing it with no HUD ( not even in combat ) made bosses easier ( no distractions at all , plus no getting nervous when about to break boss posture ).

Finally finished it!
Spoiler: |
Owl on first try, real corrupted monk on first try, Genichiro tomoe first try... and real problems started with isshin 2nd phase but it's done!
The last area guys (the lizard warriors or whatever) also were very easy and I've found them even easier than normal samurai enemies.

Overall, good game, too frustrating bullshit hit boxes especially on last boss.
Exploration kinda sucked, variety sucked, items pick ups and gear sucked. It's a good game at what it does (even great) but I like soulsborne formula more

I hope we'll never see another game like this made by FROM.

Finished it as well, killing all the bosses (including optional Headless etc.)
Steam says 35 hours, the last 3 I spent on the final boss (fucking cheap fuck )
Spoiler: | The first 2 forms I always beat without the Isshin even hitting me once, but then the very cheap 3rd form came and I got stuck a while on it. The forth form with the lighting was a ton easier, since you can revert the lightning on him, stunning him and doing tons of damage |
Best game of the year so far IMO.

Rot is pretty inconsequential and later on you get shitloads of items to heal it, I only healed it once in the whole game.
XP is lost only by half of current skill point progress, you cant lose more than down to the last full skill point, so in that way its actually less stressful than in Souls where you would just lose all your XP if you didnt recover it.
Money can also be hoarded by buying the money bags, so you basically convert your money into a money bag that you cant lose for a 10% fee.

It is the best From Software game for me. It has its flaws but overall it's really great.
The gameplay is superb, super exciting and gives more satisfaction than any other Soulsborne.
The game has actual plot but also has a lot of hidden lore stuff and it's not just item descriptions - the overhear and sake mechanics are really neat way to reveal such details.
The world is interconnected and the exploration is much more exciting because of the verticality and the hook.
Stealth is a nice alternative to just rushing through the same areas to the boss.
Overall - it's a very tight and crisp action game which is focused on it's core gameplay elements.
