Played about an hour on medium/high settings without issues until walking around Valentine and got two nasty 5 second freezes again just like before 2 GB patch - no idea what causes it. Installed latest AMD GPU drivers... Tried to turn off two cores under task manager which seemed to help, but with noticeable frame drops. I also tried CPU limiter Lasso, but that shit fucked up CPU settings and temperatures altogether - why should I install some unknown program to play a game anyway?
Care to elaborate? Didn't follow all the fixes and workarounds.
Add -cpuLoadRebalancing in the launch parameters with the Launcher, it should reduce/erase the stuttering encountered by users of 4/6 cores CPUs.
I think it essentially does what the BES/Process Lasso programs were doing, aka avoid a 100% CPU usage bottleneck resulting in constant freezes.
Although I'm not that crazy in buying it and can easily wait for Yarr! version the only difference would be the online play. Regardless of all the bugs etc. is it worth it just for online?
No. You pay for everything and to get the money you need to grind.
Anyways, after the patch, with everything on the absolute lowest settings, except for textures on Ultra, it's buttery smooth in the bayous in RDO, with my GTX1070.

That doesn't sound encouraging at all.
After the absolute nightmare that was pre-patch, I take what I can get at this point.
I'm mostly just too lazy to dive deep into the options, and these setting still look pretty decent.
Before the patch, I had around 20-30 in Saint Denis on a good day. Now it's pushing 60, and that's good enough for me.
Well, I can finally say that after the patch, adding the -cpuLoadRebalancing thing coupled with the old async compute tweak, the game doesn't stutter anymore (did several runs on the benchmark) and oddly it feels like there's been a minor average FPS improvement on my end (the game reverted my settings to the lowest as with everyone else, but I've had it saved on a notepad in case something happens, so I've reverted everything to the way it was). I'm playing on Vulkan btw.
But regardless, playing on Fullscreen or Windowed lowers my FPS to the mid-30's lol and the mouse cursor bug still happens as I've previously said. Come to think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if this bug is related to the fucking RSGL leaving some kind of "always-on-invisible-overlay" on the background or some other fuckery like that.

But in this case there's a roughly 150% performance increase...
Patch resets your video settings
I was suddenly getting 120fps in valentine when usually 40
then I noticed blur was on..

Did that work before the patch for the regular freezes that lasted for several seconds?
I kept disabling 2 cores to avoid that.
It couldn't have worked pre-patch, as it was added with the patch
and it's goal is exactly to fix the freezes that require you to limit cores
and it works for me

It's only worth it if you got a band of friends to play it together with, otherwise I expect it to be a rather poor experience.

I recently saw this bug in GTAV. In fullscreen, the game was massively under-performing (years after it ran smooth on older cards), but in windowed fullscreen, it was smooth. Didn't think that it could be the RS crap that is causing it.

Hmmm that sounds good. Question though, it might sound silly: can I play this with friends who own and play the game on Xbox or PS?
Guys, is this true? I haven't tried the game yet. But if this is true, I don't even...
From PCGamingWiki:
Quote:
No exclusive fullscreen:
The Fullscreen mode of the game acts as a maximized borderless window, resulting in concerns among G-Sync monitor users.
DirectX 12 does not support exclusive fullscreen but sets to maintain its expected benefits to performance

Unfortunately, no.. really sucks, as the playerbase numbers are nowhere near GTA5.

I can't go exclusive fullscreen in DX12, but then again I'm on Windows 7 still so that might be a factor. I've seen reports that DX12 only does Borderless Window (like the wiki extract you've just posted suggests), but I have no clue since this is actually the first DX12 game that I launched.
Apparently, DX12 libraries/APIs exist for true fullscreen integration, but I guess they didn't bother with it - WoW hasn't either.
Fullscreen works just fine for me in Vulkan though.

That's impressive for you're hardware.
This stuff is becomming to complicated. I have a gforce 2070 super and getting 60 fps avarage with nvidia experience settings at the same resolution but mine are more ultraish, but i doubt it will make a lot of visual difference. I mean 60 fps is okish, but I have a brand new high end rig.
I realy don't have a clue what settings realy make a visual impact and what is draining fps rate. I also don't feel like spending a lot of time figuring it out. I think a lot more people would enjoy the game i've rockstar just skipped a lot of graphic details, or hide them under an expert tab or otherwise give a warning before using it/maxing it out.
Nothing impressive there, 1080ti is a RTX 2080 level performance card, dont let the model numbers confuse you, in here bigger number doesnt mean automatically better performance .

You're right , confused with the 1050 ti cards.
Damn I miss the good old days, like you had a Riva tnt. Then came Riva tnt 2, this was better.
Or take graphics, you could tweak AA, say 2X, or 4x. The visual difference was noticeable and relevant, but also you're loss in fps, it made sense.
I'm getting old i guess.
