wtf? are they claiming this is made up? or do they have a version of RE8 with denuvo but without capcom's own DRM? wtf?
fuck off, denuvo |
That’s how it works. Dev ship the unprotected executable and denuvo adds their layer on top of it, so they probably also experienced capcom drm in both situations.

Crapcoms DRM actually interacts with Derpnuvo and runs code in it's VM so it's possible they added it after Derpnuvo implemented their shit and they never even saw it in the builds they got from Crapcom.
I mean realistically they would have acted or at least talked to Crapcom about it if they actually saw it since this shit makes them look bad too and that's the last thing they want.

They probably have a version without Capcom's DRM which was sent to them for initial implementation testing.

from what i understood the capcom shit is just a layer on top of denuvo that checks if denuvo is tampered with ... nothing more than that

It's apparently the Capcom DRM that had the triggers on enemy attacks. It sounds like Empress didn't crack Denuvo, they just tricked it with a fake license.
Empress removed Capcom's anti-anti-denuvo DRM.
Denuvo is shit, but in this case it does sound like it was Capcom that dropped the ball.

Cant think of any Game where Denuvo got removed in any way, wasnt it like that always that they just produce a license ?! Thats why some poeple have issues with certain CPUs.

Pretty much. Denuvo is very hard to remove fully.

It was removed completely in Assassins.Creed.Origins.The.Curse.of.the.Pharaohs.Crack.Only.READNFO-CODEX.

Overall, this is quite an unsatisfactory game.
This is AAA production values with amateurish bits and pieces. Script, story, characters and MAIN character are all... unsatisfactory.

The game isn't perfect but I like the old school amateurish bits (no hands when doing some stuff etc), old school puzzles, feels more like Myst and old point & click prerendered games than Resident Evil but honestly it's fine and it changes from boring AAA we are getting nowadays (Halo, Bores of War sure don't look amateur but are....... boring as fuck).

I enjoyed this but one playthrough was enough for me which is not typical for RE in my case
re2 remake especially and even re3 remake I got a lot more out of.
re7 was also more replayable I'd say. too many spots in this game that become tedious once you've played them once.

yeah no intention on ever replaying this again, once is enough. They do hint at future DLC tho so maybe that. And mercenaries is pretty meh.

great stuff waiting to fix the biggest technical issue of the game until after everyone played it already
its like with that gta online loading time thing
everyone knows it's an issue, everyone knew for a long time, and it's easy to fix, but the devs just don't give a shit until a big enough shitstorm can be raised through a fan fix, then oh oh suddenly we gotta put 1 guy on it for a week and get it fixed I guess...
I guess it's good that they fixed it at all but damn...
I'm sad for the games that don't get that shitstorm and stay broken even though it'd be a fairly easy fix
like bloodborne's frame pacing

Did you complain about the spongy enemies in Days Gone? |
No such thing in Days Gone(?).
Only encountered ONE massive chap (so far - almost cleared all map), but with nades and environmental explosives he goes down much faster.
Besides... back to RE8... ... iirc, the FIRST enemy that you encounter while playing in FORMEN difficulty (Hardcore / lycan) takes around 10 bullets... to the HEAD.
You then have to kill 29 more... with 27.5 bullets.

That bit was extremely poorly designed for higher difficulty. You don't have to kill them, you have to survive.

You can say that again. For a LOT of combat parts in the game.

Looks like there's a challenge that wants you to kill 30 lycans right at the start:
Defeat 30 lycans during the first lycan attack when you enter the village.
Like... seriously?!
So then... How much do I need to 'farm' the game to be able to do this?!

Well, it's not that hard. You get points for the challenges you do in a playthrough. You can unlock infinite ammunition for grenade launcher or other powerful guns and just destroy everything on a second playthrough.

I tried hardcore mode, restarted to standard, does standard still pose some challenges?

A1. You can unlock challenges in any difficulty mode.
A2. Yes. Standard mode has a couple of moderate challenging moments.
