The other side provides proof you are guilty that you can try to refute. Not your burden to start with providing evidence you are innocent that the other side refutes.
if I accused you of theft in a store while shopping, can you prove when the cops show up at your house you didn't steal that thing? What are you going to do, show them the lack of things in your possession that was stolen by you [look at all the nothings I have that I stole]? That only proves you dont have it now. You cannot provide proof you didn't steal something (proving a negative) it's on me to prove you did. THEN they can refute my claims/accusations with discrepancies between it and the truth.
Burden of proving guilt is on the accuser. Not the accused.
Unless you are talking about the other bit where they are the accuser, and not the accused. Hard to tell which part you mean that she should be believed as innocent without proof she is, or if HER claims of guilt should be without evidence...if so then ignore this whole post.
