@Bendi
No its meds for her anxiety, PTSD, and situational manic-depression cycle if put in a situation to trigger it from a traumatic incident in high school. (I wouldn't mind saying what it was if it was me, but not my call it's hers. And doubt she wants me spilling beans to strangers on the internet, you know?)
It's not even 'heavy end' of the type of meds for those things. as she's "OK" but she has her moments. But any meds that are for mental problems are expensive here.

Medications for mental health issues (for specific disorders), including PTSD, are expensive here in my EU country too. The taxpayer healthcare system does not cover it oftentimes. So people sign up for donation pages, or scrap money together with the help of family and friends for as long as possible.
The key with them is: if their user base is not big enough and/or there is no concrete evidence they are working 100% of the time, they don't get approved by health board for the state system.

Yea. Usually its outright illegal unless you have a specific drug that is already approved for it:
The federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) generally maintains that importing prescription drugs into the US by anyone other than the manufacturer is a violation of federal law.
I get R&D recoup and lifespan of drug (replaced/obsolete by newer one) needs to be accounted for for pricing.
But $66 a pill (30 pills for $2000) is making a money printing machine I think. Who can afford $66 a day for meds, much less $66 a day for just one med.
its stupid. Its what was the major factor in why my dad passed. He had to ration his blood pressure meds and diabetes meds for 'really bad days' since in the US insulin and Lisin(something) for his blood pressure, was crazy expensive if you needed it everyday.

Pills are only a bandage. Your daughter should seek a therapist.
EMDR therapy.

She has one, shes goes to both a psychologist and a psychologist once a month. Since one is for helping with your physical brain chemistry (medications) the other is to help with your mental struggles.
She's working through it. Just takes time. The meds are to help until she can come to terms with it, and move past/manage it on her own, plus she had some slight quarks (for lack of a less vague term, like father like daughter...lol) to start with so the incident didn't help at all.
She deals with them pretty well overall i'd say. Being my daughter and learning/understanding how I deal with mine (not same thing as her, but general 'I need to be mindful I am wired wrong' shit) and feeling OK to talk to me about she's learned some coping mechanisms that work for her. But when certain situations hit or wires get jumbled, no amount of empathetic and kind words of "We need to help you move past it" helps.

Ya that stuffs free here, I would never live there/move if I did. It's one year of pain, then you and family will better off on just about all fronts. Healthcare, taxes, not randomly getting shot, the education.

Good advice. EMDR works. Though it takes some time. My sister works with that technique and has had some really good results.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

After living here for a bit and reading news etc, i can safely say this is a great country to make money and to lose it when its your turn. Everything is set for politicians and their related companies to make bank on everyone else, regardless of what the public needs/wants. Make money and dont go too far so we can fucking steal it all back with time, we just need time.
Fuck everyone who votes in this country, they make a huge deal of stupid SHIT like guns, lgbt, some cunts email, some idiots drug addiction, but no problem with every fucking politician voting against the well being of public, with pedophile politicians all around, NO fucking issue with anything of importance of the whole country. A capitol was invaded because of a retarded president's hissy fit.
But no protest against low wages, brutal housing market, abusive price gouging, criminal healthcare. No protest, maaaan this is fucking retarded.
In your case, hope the best, hope theres some help program or something. Im gonna keep my dominican passwort and papers up to date, any health problems i get ill travel to DR, fuck this.

@couleur EMDR is one of the ones her new therapist is wanting to try with her.
Told her to read up on it, and make a decision for herself, and let me know if she wants my input/help on finding info on it. As what I might think of its validity, and her may be different (either for/against). I think anything that helps you helps you for mental exercises..regardless of what anyone thinks of its usefulness. And not my place to decide what does or doesn't work for her.

Thanks, we are looking around, as that is the only option for medication she has. Well that doesnt have HUGE possible side effects or the problems it makes are worse than the cure.
Guess that's why it's $2000. Its not how much is it worth to profit, its the USA thing of what is the max ridiculous profit can we make per pill, since we got the best pill?
(Side rant from topic, but in response to agree with Lopin)
As for the others you mention in the first line. It IS an uphill battle to get important issues looked into.
Any community meetings, city council meetings, or open forum Q&A city board member gatherings I go to to support those things by vote or voice, 80% of the people are there yelling and foaming at the mouth about the other things you mentioned in your post.
Last one I went to one lady spent 25 fucknig minutes of the hour meeting about homelessness issue in my side of town....not discussing opinions and ways the city can attribute funds responsivity and effectively to help them. She was there wanting laws passed about homeless people's dogs shitting in her yard. (IT happened TWICE in a month she claims...the horror).
Two (or three) district school meetings ago. A guy took up 15 minutes ranting about he don't want his son seeing 'fags' at his school. That high school is a time to fondly remember. Of doing 'teenage things' (I guess being gay isnt a thing some teens do).
Didnt talk about our shit ass education level, lack of school funding, how some schools are so old and outdated that overhead projectors (the ones you put clear sheets on to blow up) are 'high tech' to it.
No no no, let's worry about if you son is offended by who other people find attractive..thats useful use of the time we have..which I think ironically points out we need to talk about our shit ass education level.

Same here really for wait times, but not sure if as bad.
Took 6 months to get her into see someone.
For me made an appointment for a neurologist in february (having random brain fog and memory issues last year or so) and haven't seen them once yet. As my appt made in february is for May 3rd.

Thats another thing, people say, AHHH IN CANADA you must queue up for months, its free but its a long wait.
Well fucking-a, i have to wait here too, not that long but i still had to wait 1 month to get some stupid ultrasound. Imagine prefering going into 20k in debt to get instant help vs planning ahead and paying almost nothing. Dont know, im pretty sure (or i hope) that if its a life threatning issue you get quick access and no debt in canada.
Sigh, tough days, these days in the US i feel like we are surrounded by idiots and lead by rats.

I’ve heard of people near borders with neighboring counties traveling there to buy medications for much, much cheaper. Canada, Mexico, etc. Since you are in Florida, perhaps you can visit the great health care system in Cuba, and listen to great music while you are at it. You really do live in a retarded country, I have to say.

That’s the dumbest argument people come up with. Every country has a private healthcare option, if you can afford it, that cuts lines and you get an appointment from today to tomorrow or the day after.

Have you considered just.. moving to western europe? It comes with the added benefit of not living in a goddamn hollywood action movie all the time.
Swear to fuck, reading up on what you 'muricans live through, adhd genderfluid society, school shootings & private healthcare makes me wonder why you don't just.. leave?
You know what i pay for healthcare? Nothing, it's a 10% income tax, and i get all the free healthcare i need. You know when's the last time i've heard of a school shooting? Never. I've never even met a trannie. I've met like 2 gay people in my entire 30+ life. Just move dude. There's plenty of civilized countries to move to.

That's the point of the taxes, isn't it. So that you don't pay an even more obscene amount for private healthcare
1 and 2 are still amazing.
