This and the Dead Space remake are some of the best games I've played in the past years.
Only downside is the necessity to play the game THREE times (really?) to unlock a weapon with infinite ammo...
[removed due to being too big / against rules]

I thought this was the best REmake so far.
No invulnerable big bads chasing you around, you could kill anything if you just pumped enough lead into them.
Ashley was quite likable, I think she only had one line I didn't like. Voice actor was chef's kiss. I actually missed her whenever she was kidnapped.
Guns felt more powerful than in previous remakes, too. Riot shotgun was sheer joy to use. Should've played on hardcore, though. The normal difficulty turned out to be too easy. I'm just afraid the enemies might be too spongy there.
Best game this year so far.

Well considering that I once softlocked myself in RE2 remake by being too gung ho with ammo and that RE4 never was a survival horror but an action game I think it's okay.
Playing on normal and it's pretty easy tho.

What's the point of a resource system though if you can't run out?

probably not balanced enough
on normal is too easy, they die fast and plenty of ammo
on hard too spongey, they die harder but with same amounth of ammo as on normal i feel, so u do run of ammo on this but annoying to kill enemies
it needs to die fast like on normal but reduce the ammo
