I find that in most games these days 90% of the graphical sliders are there for decoration anyway.
But yeah, even with my having good fps as I've said, I do run it on a 13980HX and 4080 laptop, so not really something that should be having problems with it. That being said, I can see where poor performance would show as I'd sometimes drop sub 100 for a sec after some cutscenes or when loading some new area.
The game felt fine for me as far as input went, but I played very little since I got sick same day as it launched, and now I want to finish Cyberpunk 2077 with Phantom Liberty and then play through Lies of P, before I come back to this as they both interest me more.
I just found the level design bland and forgettable, and maybe confusing at times, though that might have been the fever, although the dual world bs didn't help. I just find it such a gimmick, and more annoying then anything else having to take out my lantern constantly.

Weird game.
Beat pieta and got to the hub and platform area afterwards. The more I play, the more I dislike the lantern and everything related to the 2 planes mechanic. Lantern is slow in every scenario (walking and using any attacks with it) which is just compounded by the enemies "horde mode" in Umbral world.
Also some shit seems to be broken like the flail's one-handed multiple hit strike, you just spin it and then hit for ONE hit, dafuq? Already put quite a few points into health with barely any real visible outcome on that bar, but that may be class related/locked somehow.

The lantern gimmick was enough for me to lose interest in the game. I did like the fluidity of movement but other than that, meh.

I cringe every time the game forces me to go umbral, which is a lot. It also has some insanely long stretches without bonfires. While it does have flowerbeds for you to make your own bonfire, the resource for doing so is rare and the game is full of trap flowerbeds where you get a permanent bonfire just around the next corner and wasted your seed.
This, among other things, makes me feel the game is unnecessarily player hostile a lot of the time.
Overall, I'm still enjoying it.

4 bosses in I still think it's 'alright', but I dislike the umbral plain and no boss fight so far gave me the same kind of satisfaction I get from beating Soulsborne bosses. It just doesn't 'scratch that itch.'

Well after enduring exploration and somewhat getting a grip on the lantern mechanics I've progressed quite a bit. Most of it was grinding a bit while trying to master the crimson sword(or whatever)'s moveset, the first decent STR based weapon I came across.
Rescued the smith, beat k9 handler, big underground guy, riding knight guy.
Upgraded that sword, the crossbow, and started wearing a slightly better armor.
Still is both funny and frustrating to find small areas or paths to separate zones that have enemies that are clearly levels above you, but it ends up as motivation to keep pushing forward. Still no major performance issues, but it's stupid if it's confirmed that some of the settings use RT with really fucks over performance, runs ok-ish with GI and reflections on medium. Still on 1.0 too, who knows what they've been breaking with every (almost) daily patch

I'm not sure there is "real" RT in the game anyway, not as we understand it. The reflection settings talks about RT but I have been looking and I haven't seen a single RT reflection in the entire game.

It is interesting seeing as this was one of the praised features of old rpg games and the original Dark Souls. Think scaling and such is messing with our brains.

Exactly. First it frustrated me a bit, and then it gives you something to works towards to.
Also the game is really bad at communicating information to you. For example, the petrified whamen in the swamps, aside from her dialogue that plays once you have no idea what to do to advance that quest.

I displayed sever levels of masochisms making it to the end of this one. It's the worst Souls-like game masquerading as a good one.

The boss fights in this one range from too easy to tedious. Some very cool designs but gameplay wise it's a one and done.

I'm still having fun? if you can call it like that with these games - but I agree on some encounters being completely not thought about, just random shit to increase the difficulty artificially.
Some enemies aren't balanced at all. Also some level design mishaps ( there's this optional Palladin boss, once inside the "arena", there's the archers from outside spamming arrows through the gate

I enjoyed this. It has it's rough spots and it wouldn't been better off without the umbral world mechanic but I played through it and mostly had fun.

I liked it alot. It really reminded me of Dark Souls 1.
It does have some (rather big) flaws though.

Yes, one major flaw is that at some point it keeps throwing earlier bosses in your face alllllll the time. It is challenging, yes, but also quite boring.

He made one grievous error though. You can actually get out of elevators to ready them for your inevitable demise and return.
Otherwise i kinda agree. But it'd say it's a great souls like game. Only thing i could be without was the damn double world mechanic. It's tedious always looking through places twice to see if there's some hidden stuff, but at the same time it's great as it looks awesome, but you get enough of it so it should have been sections instead
Boss fights is where it shines. Like Fromsoftware themselves they manage to make boss telegraphy quite decent and recognizable. It looks so much better than other clones. Lies of P for example is one i feel has some catching up to do on that front. Boss fights in Lords of the Fallen is A LOT more enjoyable.
Music is Darksouls.
Oh and one quick very negative thing: Vigor (souls) don't just add like your regular souls games. They drop on the ground, and very slowly with certain enemies with long death animations. So if you just hack and slash your way to the boss then you most likely left a shitton of souls on your way. Very bad design.
That's about it. If you like Dark Souls and can deal with the double world trouble, your're all set for a grand, and i mean grand fucking adventure.

Finally upgraded that Angel Axe to 10 and... lost the will to play
Still have two beacons to go, the manse and dunno where's the 4th one, but nowadays I'm simply more interested in Underrail.

Is that so, aren't you complaining that the vigor is left on the floor?

You say complaining, but it's only common sense you shouldn't have to wait for 10 seconds after killing random enemies to get your souls. And i'm not waiting around with lanterns either
It is a game problem as no other game is like that, attempting to counter my point will not lead anywhere.

You just need to raise the lamp and press RB opposed to RT( used for souldflaying ), all "souls" come to you in an instant
