Be sure to test some OCing. Apparently these 5080ies overclock pretty well.

For AMD to "stand a chance", they pretty much need to be cheaper then the 5070ti, which they apparently are and they need to be better. AMD just has nothing going for them, and only being cheaper won't do anything. Once you accept the fact that you can't even attempt to compete at the top end, you don't inspire much confidence.
Considering most of the requirements these days require DLSS for any practical performance, and FSR blows ass, Nvidia really seems to be the way to go if you're gaming oriented.
It's weird they compare it to the 6900XT and 7900GRE and not XT to XTX.

FSR4 doesn't blow ass. Not DLSS4 levels alright, but quiiiite there, and for -150 bucks it more or less deals with the 5070Ti. People can't be happy no matter what it seems.

Yeah but 900€/1000€ for a jewvidia card as opposed to (hopefully) 600€/700€ for AMDerp will make a difference.
For me and others that still aim for ~1440p instead of fourkay!!11!!111 it might be more than enough. Add to that that most modern AAA games are just shit, I think I'll live without DLSS just fine.

I dunno and it makes its obtuse for the naming, probably on purpose for some reason.
7900 then 9070, Im assuming the change is to muddy the connection people will make with 5070 and 9070 (and all the other 50X0 and 90X0 lines).

Nvidia has 90% of the GPU market. I assume AMD changed the names so that their customers would have a direct comparison to a vastly more popular product.
I'm still rocking an RX 6800, for the amount I bought it for (only 1300 PLN/ 320 USD) it's a beast in 1440p. At the time of purchase I could get at best a 3070 for a similar price. I'm considering a 9070xt, but I want to see the real world price and performance first.
Also note, AMD for some reason as drivers evole, the performance just gets better over time. Their 7900xtx came out a few years ago and is still kicking ass in 4k.
