Eh, those who wanted to buy it already bought it on Ubistore or Epic. Steam charts don't show much in this case.

They kind of do when you consider Valhalla has a all time peak of 284k, and that released on Steam 2 years after uPlay

Valhalla's current 24hr peak is over 2,000

Being a new Star Wars game, ~800 players from a 'AAAA' studio is incredible

The game already "struggled to meet sales expectations" so badly back when it launched that it made Ubi's stocks plunge to all-time-low depths, but the Steam reception is on another level. Literally the entire Gabeplanet saw the game and reacted like the disgusted cat gif Very Happy
Although we've had some incredibly tough competition this year, the Slop Flop of 2024 should be secured

AC Valhalla launched on Steam for 20 dollars ($19.80, 67% sale).

This launched for 20% off, and it's still $52.49, so more than two-and-a-half Valhallas.

Not to mention that Valhalla launched with better reviews (83% on OpenCritic, 80% on MetaCritic vs Outlaw's 75 on both).

EDIT: Just checked and Valhalla also had a free week on Steam, which would explain the all-time peak of over 250k.

What's your point then? That this is a shittier, more expensive game and that's why it didn't sell? Cause I think that's everyone's point.

Yes, that is exactly my point on why it didn't sell well on Steam. But considering it launched earlier on uPlay and Epic, the Steam charts don't show much in this specific case. If it launched at the same time it'd be a different story, since the vast majority of players would buy it on Steam.

We know it didn't sell well either way, but I doubt it's <1000 copies on uPlay and Epic.

they're never gonna profit from this, i heard Disney takes 30%, Steam (etc) takes their cut, they're left with very little + game development cost is immense Laughing

Not great for weekend numbers, but then the game itself isn't great either. I hadn't played it before yesterday, and it stinks. The environments, locations etc are all fine, they nailed it, but it's every other thing and the gameplay loop. Just so tired of anything Ubisoft makes.

How are we still using these physics as well? This is how it worked in Vice City, a PS2 game. Just ragdoll her Confused

All prices are relative to the age of the games. This is exactly how they should have been sold. 20% off as a launch discount for a new game is actually surprising.

If the argument is that people who wanted Star Wars already had it on uPlay, surely more bought Valhalla from there over the years. And you could also get Valhalla for just as cheap, multiple times on uPlay.

I think this game just isn't doing well, because it sucks, and there's a lot of hype around why it sucks
