It's not dlss, has nothing to do with it, nvidia drivers are just a mess. it's not like dlss wasn't used before. Basically, before this I would have the same fps regardless of resolution or anything, now scaling actually works. I don't know. This was only an issue in a few games as well, not like it affected everything. So yeah, went from 50 to 90+ at 1440p in Stalker 2 specifically. Now, in 4k it was around 50 before and now it's around 60, but yeah... it's a mess. And what you said about the drivers not fixing it for you, that's why nvidia is even more of a mess than ever.

Same drivers, similar laptop, just a 4090 instead of a 4080, and the guy's frametimes just went to shit with this same driver.

And like I said, Shadps4 frametime again, before changing to this driver it was 150-300 and around 20fps, now it's closer to 10 and running smooth at 4k 60+fps(locked at 60 atm).

Before this driver I had to either run version 0.9 or earlier of shadps4 to get decent frametime and framerate, or I would have to use a driver from autumn of 2024. It's just stupid. And again, this driver I had before was generally stable, with most games running well, outside of Stalker 2, Returnal, Marvel Rivals (200+fps terrible frametime and stutters) and shadps4, it was 581.08.

Most other drivers in 2025 either had some other esoteric problem, or it would just crash certain games or whatever.
