Thanks for posting, good video and explanations. It looks like that with the update at least NPC encounters feel more natural than before, especially for people starting a new game.

👍

Those encounters do feel quite ok to me -- I never saw any monsters / NPCs popping in and out around. And they sure do make the world 'feel' more alive - even more than CP2077.

Go figure, huh.

EDIT --

Don't know how the 'stelt' was before, but it seems it's improved in 2.0:

Heh, didn't know this:

Geiger clicking, boots in the mud,
Anomaly's glowing where the old road was flood.
Got my Kalash slung, got my bread in a sack,
Sausage in my pocket, ain't never going back.

Artifact detector's beeping like a drum,
Radiation's climbing but the flavor's still numb.
Passed a rusted Ferris wheel, passed a bandit's grave,
Took a bite of sausage 'cause a Stalker's gotta stay brave.

Yeah nah m8, I don't think you did.
I'm on 2.0.3 now and had to search for the intercom tower code because the corpse with the code didn't spawn...

Stalkers! Patch 2.0.4 is ready. Let’s take a look at what pesky “anomalies” were fixed.

• Fixed an issue where a player could lose the ability to move after loading the save made right after the explosion of a C4 device.

• Fixed an issue where Mavka could still be present in the Kurin hub after the end of the In the heart of the Iron Forest mission.

• Fixed an issue where the cutscene in the Zalissya bar could start the second time. (Gaffer will now recognize Skif properly after all this time.)

• Fixed an issue where some mission objectives of In memory of the fallen could remain active after killing snorks.

• Fixed an issue where the The destructive power of the mind mission could not be started under certain conditions.

• Fixed an issue where Zulu was answering with a busy topic instead of the scripted dialogue during the Gunpowder, sweat, and blood mission.

• Improved lighting inside the CNPP hub.

• Fixed an issue where the sound could be missing on Xbox after the game update.

• Fixed an issue where the autosaves could not trigger during the DLC missions.

• Fixed an issue where pressing 'P' during a system notification opened the PDA while system notifications were disabled.

• Fixed an issue where the system notification could remain on the screen for a long time.

• Fixed an issue where the water level could unexpectedly change during the In memory of the fallen mission.

• Improved global lighting on the quality graphics preset of the Xbox Series S.

• Fixed an issue where NPC, Player and weapons could glow during the rainy and foggy weather.

• Fixed an issue where the weather could change from rain to emission abruptly.

• Fixed an issue that caused the caffeine overdose hard breathing effect to trigger on title restart even if the effect had already gone.

• Fixed an issue where the fog could appear indoors in multiple locations.

• Fixed 26 different crashes.

Stay tuned for more as we will continue to work on improving your experience in Cost of Hope and future updates.

Thanks for the heads up.
Already cracled too; downloaded it, installing it now.
For all the good it'll do though, taking into account that the some of the supposedly fixed missing dead bodies mentioned on a previous patch still seem to be missing Laughing Sad

Should I wait for patch 2.1 before playing this?

After nearly 2 years I finally started playing (played 5-6 hours back when released and had to stop and uninstall it) after seeing all the positive feedback for this big update and that even our resident grouchy humper is saying good things about it.

Around 20 hours in, I'm finding it very enjoyable, it is atmospheric, it is immersive, it feels reasonably balanced difficulty-wise and it's looking and performing great, just don't expect the same exact feeling as the original trilogy and you should be OK.

54 hours in and I like it.

What I do dislike is the running around like a prick between POI(s) and HUB(s).

Don't want fast travel free from / to anywhere(!), but they could at least allow you to fast travel back from POI to the main HUB in the respective sub-area...

Could save some tedious time wasted drinking and running, drinking and running, drinking and running, drinking and running, drinking and running, drinking and running, drinking and running, drinking and running...

What you mean? Scratch Head
*run till stamina is wiped out*
*pop a canned food can*
*run till stamina is wiped out*
*pop an energy drink*
*run till stamina is wiped out*
*can't pop another energy drink since the effect is still active so drink a water instead*

*run till stamina is wiped out*
*energy drink effect is done, but if I pop another one then I'll get hungry so pop a canned food can*
*run till stamina is wiped out*
etc etc

is the highlight of the game for sure Laughing
Even with a thunderberry artefact, that one seemingly barely helps stamina regeneration.
And some areas are really badly designed with only a guide per area or worse, zero fast travel options.

Finished the DLC, gold. Pretty long as well, and I love my new gun (from a sidequest). The new mini-boss is annoying, Amok, the dream sequence a bit annoying but interesting. Also some platforming.

One of the Goat's and one of my 3 Goats, no more stuttering, looks even better now, 0 crashes (didn't have those before this patch), map is maybe the best big one in any game, just hunting for artifacts, cashes, avoiding anomalies&mutants, you can really get lost in the adventure every time and have great fun. Graphics are top notch, textures on epic, everything else on high.

Guns and gunfights the best for me, guns feel real and lethal, they can jam, breakdown, peek left and right, mod the guns.

Will replay when finished and make all the different choices.

Sounds good.

Will buy the DLC also.

Atm I am still running around (not quite) 'like a prick' exploring the maps, upgrading and hoarding coupons.
