1. Sheogorath is the Daedra Prince of Madness.
2. Did they finally fix the broken combat system, the ultra-linear, boring quests, make thieves actually useful or fun to play, nerf warriors, allow for some class mixes, and kill the scaling? That game could've been so much more, but Bethesda settled for such a mediocre package.

The patch was released for all systems:
http://www.elderscrolls.com/home/home.htm
Works fine with a mini-image since the game only uses a cd-check, obviously you shouldn't apply the patch if you have modified the exe or bsa files and should restore the backups of those files before patching or reinstall.
(The script extender OBSE wich is used in a mulititude of plugins is not yet compatible either but a special 0.9 version may be re-released for 1.2 later and if not the 1.1 version will support 1.2 when it comes out, Unofficial patch also works great since only one official change overlaps with it)
EDIT: SI itself is set to be released around the 26th from what I know.
(Says the 30th here in Sweden in the shop I checked but Euro dates are usually a little later than US dates if the publisher/developer is based in the US)

FAQ
28. What can you tell us about the release of Shivering Isle? When? How much? Will International (non-English speaking) fans have to wait? Will it have a paper map or other gimmicks?
Release date is March 27th, everywhere, PC and Xbox Live. The price is $30, or 2400 Microsoft points.

What was broken about the combat system? Huge upgrade over Morrowind. I'm not sure how your playing your thief but the sneak & marksmen combo is easy mode for Oblivion. And if you specialized in light armor and get some decent strength, agility, and speed your like a crazy ninja jumping 20 yards in a single bound while hauling ass. And even if you are in a close combat situation you can just jump and back peddle while slinging poisoned arrows.
The only time warrior has a clear advantage over other classes is lvl 1-10 and thats if you built your character right. Even then warriors are nothing but health potion addicts. You can't sneak so your aggroing everything in your heavy armor. You'll have a fun time with wraiths unless you have crazy damage enchants on your weapon.
Mages are a mixed bag and depend on racial bonuses and birthsigns to be effective compared to the other classes. Conjuration is a life saving skill early on so I always make sure to have it and its handy to if you want a target to level up weapons and armor. Alchemy is a great way to earn money without dungeon crawling and you'll be leveling up quickly, which means if you plan your stats wisely you will be even more badass.
I agree with the scaling thing though but the OOO mod does a good job of removing it. My biggest gripe with the game was the fact that everything looked the same. Caves, ruins, forts, even town castles all look the same but laid out a little different. You would think they could change up the textures every now and then to at least make them look a little unique.

QFT. The layout is much copy/paste work too + the rest of the game just feels like a huge forrest. I can travel from one side of the map to the other yet it wont feel like im visiting another place or seeing another culture. Morrowind was far supperior, you travled across the map seeing all kinds of varied cities, cultures and landscapes, the game felt at least 10x as large as Oblivion because of this.
But what totaly kills the game for me ( been trying to play it a couple of times now using lots of mods which fixes most stuff) is how extremely boring the Oblivion planes are.

You make a good point...Morrowind did feel so much bigger than Oblivion, but that might be because you had to go all the way around the red mountain to get to the other side.

Gothic 3 was far better at presenting different lands and cultures. It's just a shame about all it's other faults.

Based on the initial reactions from the X360 users who bought and downloaded it before maintenance started with the Live network, on the official forums, it seems like a good expansion with quite a bit of content albeit rather short main story or perhaps that dude rushed like crazy (6 hours).

All in all it's probably 30 hours if everything is done and explored but there's quite a few people now who has completed the expansions mainquest based on all the spoilers and posts on the official forums.
