and 1-2 hours to load the first mission.

Game is junk - your own units have the pathfinding skills of a five year old and a 15 second reflex time. Enemy isn't much better. Tired of babysitting an "e l i t e" team simply to get them to move down a stairway correctly without running into the rail endlessly.

I dont know, this colors are quite cool for me. U remember movies like Black Hawk Down, Enemy at the gates, Saving Private Ryan? Video production of these movies is based on reduced saturation, all that is in purpose of war atmosphere. Thank God GRAW2 is not Cartoon Network, like Far Cry ...

I

Could you tell me wich graphic card you have and the setting you have running the game with. And how many FPS do you get ?

I'm running everything on max with medium textures and get about 30-40FPS w/ x2 4000/7900GS KO/2x1024 Dual Channel.

While I hate to admit it, this ones is no where near as bad as the first one, the gearing up screen is even better.

trying to get it for my laptop.

how well would it fare with a 1.83ghz C2D, 1 GB ram and a 7600 GO?

i know the gpu is the main drawback... but i shouldn't worry too much right?

Game seems interesting enough and the previous GRAW title was decent but for some reason I also get that screen corruption problem like white textures and a flickering image followed by a BSOD errors about NV4_Disp after a short amount of playtime so I guess it's either the 162.18 beta drivers or a game error since this is the only title that displays these symptoms and it doesn't matter what settings I use - hope a patch is released or perhaps it is a earlier build but this is more of a technical rant and I'll solve it somehow.
(I'll just check the official forums for possible solutions, should be solvable.)

Speaking of earlier builds the swedish PC Gamer magasine also had a review of the game in this month's magasine and gave it 74% with the negative points being that it was quite short and buggy but they also said they used a review build and hoped it would be solved in the retail version.
(AI issues, team ignoring orders and frequent crashes.)

Yes but it's early anyway. This is a right punishment for the several delays without a reason that this game had.

I'm actually digging this game and hated the first one. I like how you can shoot there leg when there running and they go tumbling. Though I wish they did a RS6: Vegas deal with the team mate where they would press there backs up against a wall or something and peak out and fire, that would made this game a lot better, I mean WE can lean and all that shit, but not the computer, they only fire at whats in site, RS6 if there was an enemy they'd duck down, pop out and so forth.

does your card have 512ram , if not then STAY ON MEDIUM Very Happy

anyway does this game work , how is the 3 or the second mission ? do they work
I'm on E6600@3GHz, 2gb of ram, and 8800gts with 320mb. Framerate didn't drop under 40 even once at 1280x1024 with everything maxed out. Good optimization Smile
but I still don't understand why I can't get high detail textures Sad
I'm on the second mission Smile

READ AGAIN (now writing in bigger letters) YOU NEED 512 RAM ON YOUR GRAPHIC CARD TO HAVE HAVE HIGH TEXTURES , and 8800 with 320ram are crap anyway ...640 ram should be the min

Totally oagree on this one. And they act a little stupid. Enemy spotted (in assault mode) and then don't shoot.

What hafriski said was right, he can't select high textures because he doesn't have a 512 gfx card. What's really bullshit is the devs' decision to auto-disable that option and force you to resort to ini tweaking.

Rainbow Six Vegas is arcadish, Ghost Recon has always been more realistic, especially the first one. If you'd be able to duck behind cover the game would be considered a R6-clone, and besides that, ghosts should always be the first ones to shoot (with all their hi-tech machinery), not the ones that need to take cover and blindfire Smile

Runs fine on my GTS 8800 320MB with textures on HIGH! Laughing

dude looks like you didn`t read it
Code:
<variable name="texture_quality_backdrop" value="high"/>

By default, if you don't have a graphics card with 512MB or more of Video RAM (VRAM) onboard, you will not be able to select High for the Texture Quality in-game video settings. However, if you want to force GRAW 2 to use High Texture Quality (See In-Game Settings for a visual comparison), regardless of your graphics card, set every variable starting with "texture_quality_" to have a value = "high". Alternatively, you can simply select particular visual components to assign a Texture Quality of High. For example, you may wish to only force high for characters, vehicles and weapons. Using High Texture Quality may cause a decrease in FPS, and more importantly an increase in loading times and in-level stutter, which is why it's normally meant for cards with higher amounts of VRAM.

You know, ducking behind a car or wall is also using cover.. And about suppressive fire, you think it would be interesting if your teammates were blindfiring while you are advancing, potentially getting shot in the back? Crouch + lean is the way, it's not because one game (Rainbow Six Vegas) implements a certain gimmick that every other game should just copy it.
