using 4x msaa forced in Nhancer and it works!
u have to set aa compytibility to 45: rainbow six vegas...
i had problems with fog with aa turned on, but then i changed drivers to XG163.44 and problems are gone...

Yah and there goes most of your FPS! if you are still getting decent FPS, it isn't enabled. Fact of the UT3 engine Im afraid.

It's guaranteed there is no AA running. It's Just not possible Im afraid in the UT3 engine. And until DX 10.1 it wont be. 4x MSAA would turn it into a slide show.

uhm, care to explain? I barely noticed a FPS difference between aa and no-aa in the MOH:A demo (also U3 engine), and yes, you can tell it is clearly enabled.

Nah, it isnt! Your eyes are playing tricks on you (or you dont mind low FPS). It's a known issue with the UT3 engine and its one of the main reasons that GRAW 2 comes with a "smooth edges" option as opposed to AA. In fact if you look at any UT3 game there is NEVER an option for AA.
B
EDIT : My bad, apparently DX10 fixes this, am going to go test now. I had always thought it was only going to be fixed in DX 10.1. Will get back to you when I've tested.

I'm only running DX9c on winxp (3200+ and 8600GT, nothing special). The difference between no-AA and AA in MOH:A is so huge that it is almost unplayable when it's not on -- jaggies everywhere ...

Its a documented fact that AA in the UT3E does not "play nice" with anything except DX10. I just tried to enable AA in Vista 64 in Bioshock and TBH, it looks the same as if it isn't switched on which leads me to believe that it is indeed a feature that will be implemented in DX 10.1 as I have read more than once. I tried it in R6 as well where it is visible but the FPS goes from 80 to 25.

You can only set AA in Bioshock when using DX9 (also involves renaming the exe).
UT 3 engine does not do AA in DX10 yet.
There are numerous sources on the net confirming this!!

So, anyone having problems with the LOLCATS rls? I'm thinking of DLing that one, as it seems less of a fuss to install and run. Also, what's the "VS redist" that you need to install alongside?

It's also a documented fact that it works fine for me. Maybe you should ditch vista?

Just reinstalled R6 and AA now working with no perf hit whatsoever (visibly) not sure what to say really except that in Bioshock, it really does not look like it works in DX10. As someone mentioned above, I think it is only working in DX9 for the moment. You learn something new everyday!

Nah, TBH it looks fine in 1920 x 1200 without the AA. Most of the time you are moving way to fast to take in the sights. Im sure it will be addressed presently. Im actually happier that I can now turn on AA in R6:V without the problems I was having before!
Happy trails!

yeah, I tried running R6:V without AA to increase performance (I'm kinda borderline getting decent FPS @ 1024x768) and it was crap. I'm pretty far from a graphics whore as well, it's just the difference in some games is unbelievable. Hopefully Bioshock will run well for me with AA on, or hey, maybe the jaggies won't be as noticable .. in the screenshots a few posts up the difference between aa and no-aa doesn't seem that big to me, just on a couple of the objects ....

They dont bother me too much in Bioshock. Thats not to say I wont be happy when I can enable it, just that its no big deal.

LOLCATS works 100% totally perfect.
No patching.....no moving nuttin around. No serial screen. Installed via Daemon, then unmounted. Plays fine w/o disc [emu].
So far, after 2 hours of gameplay........ still no issues.

yeah... I'm still wondering why people are saying... get the lolcats release and then get that crack and use it...
I didn't get any other crack, just installed lolcats release and it works without doing anything.
so anyone care to explain why they're telling people to get a seperate crack after installing the lolcats release?

hmm I don't think there is an actual nodvd crack out. as far as I know it's all bypassing activation stuff for now, no real crack. but then, I might be wrong.
