I hope to see some SS2 mod thru UE3 editor, could be awesome Smile

one of the main reasons i bought the game was because i had read about mod potential. hopefully big things happen because honestly, you can only play a single player game so many times.

other reasons i bought it was because i love SS2, and the box said "no 2 players will ever play the same way" which was a total exaggeration.

love the game world, the story is okay but not really original, and even on hard the game is so easy there is very little tension.

and yea, i agree with the mario hacking joke... at the same time i think its an improvement over SS2's hoping you click the right node... but its still cheesy.

this game is seriously missing customizable skills and a freaking inventory.

didnt they put Arx Fatalis on xbox? Arx fatalis is the last good rpg/action game i can recall. and even Dark Messiah was more rpg/action than Bioshock.

you know what would be sweet... if someone could magically manage to find a way to smash a gameworld like in oblivion, all be it as a smaller scale underwater city, with the bioshock gameplay... that'd be wicked... rather than the gameworld being a set of 'stages' with a few 'sections' within each one, youd really get the sense of a living breathing real city, where something when massively wrong...

maybe they can do something like that for the inevitable bioshock sequel "biosurprise?"

I don't know if that's possible with the BioShock engine at the moment, because the streaming tech of UE3 is not used currently, hence the (relatively) small levels.

Has anyone figured out how to edit ConfigINI without making the game crash on start up. Tried searching the official forums, but nada Sad. It seems there are some unused plasmids lying around, that you cant get in the game because they are disabled in ConfigINI.

There's alot of unused stuff in that INI, think I also showed some things like weapon upgrades and special tonics a few pages back.

Several of the "locked" plasmids/tonics will be released as "Plasmid Pack1" wich will be (from what I've gathered) a purchasable DLC modifciation for the X360 system. Smile
(This can be seen via the "LockedContent=True" in that file and the HasPlasmidPack=1/0 in the Bioshock.INI file - adjusting this value just resets it to "0" when the game starts.)

Using console commands to add the locked plasmids like "Sonic Boom" or "Machine Buster" will just add them to the player, however the player can not equip the plasmids or tonics even when using a gene bank.
(You can add it to the slots but it can't be selected and tonics provide no bonuses.)

The entire file is nearly 2MB big so I haven't been able to check everything in it.
(Would be fun to change it but as it's locked via various checks it doesn't appear likely it will ever be modifiable.)

That config file is not an ini file, it's an archive with tons of ini files in it, so when you change it the archive hash index doesn't match the one thats in the .exe check.
See if you can figure the rest out yourself.

Figure out what? I have no idea how to edit it without making it crash. I tried searching IBF file editor or something close it, but nothing. And i already got its not just a simple ini file, hence the extension, but it is called ConfigINI.
