Do you ever actually get 360KB/s if you use a P2P network. I always am uploading in excess of 400KB/s but because alot of people download much faster then they upload, my download speeds are crap. The only time my download is maxed is from downloading from fxp, etc.

Who do you get 10mbit from in the UK?!

Your download speed : 9271321 bps, or 9054 kbps.
A 1131.7 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 945775 bps, or 923 kbps.

Cablevision's Optimum Online

Although they did throttle down their newsgroup server quite a bit since I've been with them. Used to DL a movie in about two hours off of their server when I first signed with them a few years ago. Now it's like four or more hours. That really has me annoyed cause that's where I need to use the speed they're advertising, the speed that I get, the most.

Optimum online would be good if they werent into port blocking and capping your upload speed if ya upload too much.

Officialy it's 4 megabit down and 192 kilobit up, but the downloadspeed can be greater than 4 megabit.
It's stupid, my isp is probably the only one who has an upload limit. You can only upload 15% of your total limit and the standard limit is 10 gb, so my upload limit is 1,5 gb Sad
But you can increase it if you pay more though.
Belgium is absolutely crap when it comes to downloadlimits, the isps give you a lot of speed, but you can't put it to good use because you are only allowed to download 10 gig.

I wished I lived in the Netherlands Sad

Its 512 kilobits per second, with an average max. of 60 kilobytes per second.

There are 8 bits to a byte, so divide 512 by 8 and get 64 - thats your theoretical maximum download speed. Once TCP overheads etc. are taken into account, its usually around 55 kilobytes per second download speed.

aahhh now I get it Razz

How come when you connect the the net with XP it says I have a 576kbps connection???

That is your port speed
