BlueSkyz wrote: | Didn't like it , after SC with its zoom out and after the addon with its new GUI this game fells kinda old , don't get me wrong this game has potential but the locked zoom its kinda stupid , i better liked act of war game mechanics | someone fixed that anyway , from the petroglyph forums
Code: | I used Final Big040b to open the config.meg file and navigated to the tactical_cameras.xml. I pasted the land portion from Slocket's Camera_Free v1.0 for Empire at War over the existing settings. It made the zoom go all the way out to almost Supreme Commander distances and allowed pitch control. It has made the game 100% more enjoyable for me. The downside is that it doesn't work with multiplayer because when the game is loading I get a Windows Live error. |

im not bothered about altering the file but heres all the crap you need to do it
heres a link to the editor he used http://wagnerma.de/yinger/showdownload.php?detail=1
he must have copied this over the land mode part already in part of the config.meg file , i just had a quick look and it looks exactly the same almost

Thanks for the info about the camera....makes a badass game even more badass...Not sure why they chose the restrictive camera when all the models and effects are so pretty amazing to watch in battle from a worms-eye-view.
Anyways I really dig this game, so much so that Petroglyph just got my money for the steam version, which is about the only game I bought non-retail besides a few hl2 mods.
Not sure why it is so awesome, just feels like what a RTS "should" be. It is like Supreme Commander, but with personality and a really decent SP experience, IMHO. Which is not to say SC sucks, just that I had higher expectations for it. Same with c&c3 and wic. UAW seems to deliver the addictiveness of old rts games unlike those games.
Hopefully the devs deliver and make modding tools available as well as keeping up pretty awesome support like they did with EAW. If so, this game will satisfy my RTS craving for quite awhile, which is good seeing as StarCraft 2 is probably way off..

With me version 1.0 clone only works in a IDE drive. So, those of you that are trying to get the clone working try IDE drives. (I have DT build 218 , SPTD 1.53)

Wierd, it works for me. Got Reloaded, copied crack, patched the game with this patch http://www.sega.com/support/pcdownloads/uaw_patch/uaw_day1.exe , and just loged in with offline live account.

is your daemon tools up to date. i have the 4.10.218 version. also are you using the mds fix? and just in case try to enable emulation options from daemon tools. and lastly make sure you are running the game either from the autorun or the launcher. the main exe alone doesn't start the game. i had some problems at first too but somehow i managed to get it work. can't really remember though what was wrong, haven't slept in a while and my mind is a big mess at the moment. let me know what happens.

..so not only that walker is big enough already, they had to make sure its the only thing i see on the screen. yeah workarounds that sometimes dont work online, dont work with the patch or they're just buggy. big MEH at you, petroglyph

hmm. I can't seem to get the zoom mod to work... after i modify the file, the game fails to start.
Wish they would ease up on the zoom with an official patch. It is pretty rediculous as it is.
It was the first thing I noticed and disliked instantly about the game.
I understand them not wanting a SC view of the playfield... but geez... the walker is just too much. I need a little more freedom and ability to zoom out.

If anyone is interested and it doesnt violate rules-not sure why it would since its just a bunch of xml and config files in a file-I can upload it on rapidshare or something, the config.meg file is only 20 megs and yeah ive had it fuck up a few times by inserting an extra line or two.
And yeah, it does fuck up Live signing in when you change anything, which is fucking retarded if you ask me, but since I'm not a big fan of playing mp vs random ppl miles away, no biggie.

I certainly would appreciate it. I don't see how that is violation of anything... it's just a mod after all.

for those having trouble pasting in the code, DO NOT PASTE IN THE FIRST LINE!
the first two lines snop1050 posted were
Quote: | <TacticalCameras>
<TacticalCamera Name="Land_Mode"> |
dont paste in the <TacticalCameras> and it should work.

the camera mod is nice, although it doesn't scale as good, and i would prefer a more diagonal angle. i hope it's implemented by petroglyph though cause it's obviously much needed.
what i am really waiting though is a pop cap mod. i want to make a legion of hundereds ohm robots. which would require another mod to be able to queue more than five units. I love the smell of doomsday in the morning.
