Where can I find that guy who is your fan, still didn't complete it and can't find him now?

He reappears at the Markets, top of the stairs. Once you've spoken to him, he vanishes and doesn't reappear until you've done a few quests and/or left the station.

He was a bitch for me too, spent ages looking for him.

The Fan quest. You need to complete a planet then go back to market he will show up. I think you have to do it 3 times. Not sure but check back after you complete a planet.

Why is a trainer for an RPG pointless or more pointless than for other kinds of games?

I've become spoiled with the awesome voice acting in Bioware titles. ME is no exception. Voicework is just as important to the plot as the plot itself

Indeed. But still, more action-oriented custom mods/modules (a.k.a less or no dialogue/speech) can still be challenging and very appealing.

Besides, Oblivion has some very good mods WITH voice implementation. Also The Witcher got his Djinni editor released (even if speech dialogue is not very easy to implement and the editor itself is not as friendly as Unreal Editor 3). Thus the point is that one CAN create something good even without custom voice acting.

I like the fact that they used some of the voice actors from KOTOR in Mass Effect. The grunt you start with (can't remember his name) also did the voice of Carth in KOTOR.

The voice acting is sublime, some of the best in the industry to be sure.

Funny thing is that someone objected to the same thing, as if it was a bad thing.

Why should they use other actors when they have a good one working for them? I wonder if that guy objects that - for example - Mel Gibson acts in more than one movie...

I didn't object because it's the same voice actor--the guy was fine in Republic Commando and his various guest appearances on television shows--but because his character in ME is basically a clone of Carth Onasi, who was the most annoying character in either KotOR game. The fact that it's the same voice actor was just one more thing that makes ME seem like just another retread of KotOR and Jade Empire.

You might have a point there. I haven't advanced into the game to make judgement about Kaidan (I never had a problem with Carth's character in KOTOR BTW, had a half-decent backstory and offered a half-decent quest to solve his problem Smile ).

Carth may have been annoying, but Kaidan isn't as annoying and is pretty powerful for a biotic.

I've actually given up on the PC version for now (on my 7900, the game looks like SHITE compared to the 360 one .. and when increasing details to Ultra, it just about looks the same - not better) and I'm playing the 360 one again. This time I'm going 100% Renegade Very Happy

I will/do miss the mouse control though. Need to get me an XFPS sharpish!

I'm actually a shock soldier or whatever there called. I've put in about 15 hours now just from reading beating 2 planets (story) 1 planet (side quest) completed all the quests on the citadel. There is so much lore in this game that I just get lost into it when I start it up. This is why I loved the KOTOR games though we have had alot of lore from the movies/books which helped. Even if some of the things from Kotor made it into this game (mechanics/voice) who cares it was great then it is great now. If most of you would just stop take a step back & look at this game in it's whole I would have to say there are not too many games that give you as much playtime and quality then this. I'm not complaining about you guys who are nit picking but if you did stop for a moment & tried to enjoy something for what it is you might find alot more pleasure out of the things you see/do/hear. Trust me I used to nit pick everything and never found joy in anything I played.

I'm with you on this Ace.

Bioware have never let me down, their games are always masterpieces - sheer works of art. Everything from graphics to audio, from story to voices ... always masterpieces. Mass Effect doesn't disappoint in that regard. Sure it looks/feels like KoTOR -- but is that a bad thing? KoTOR was legendary and the sequel, while created by Obsidian instead, was still amazing.

I'm EAGERLY awaiting news on Mass Effect 2 -- and the new DLC coming from Bioware too.

Looks like KOTOR, well sorta, but hell of a lot more polished. Its the 1st RPG I have played that have a true "film/cinematic" feel to it. KOTOR in all its glory but ME is for sure a true successor.

Spot on, I feel the same. Oblivion was cool too, but nothing like this.

Could someone post a save with hardcore difficulty (and nothing else if possible) unlocked? I really want to play on hardcore for my first playthrough.

Thanks in advance

Really cool game so far, was a little skeptical about the real time combat which has the potential to go horribly wrong (read Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines) but its done really well here.

Oh and I posted this in the other topic, but I think it fits here better.

Me too, and I'm glad to see other people who like KOTOR II as well. Smile ME is a really great, dare I say amazing game, it belongs with the other great ones, like Deus Ex -though I still think Warren Spector's masterpiece is better, Bioware came really close, again. Smile
