are the textures integrated in the program or do you get them somewhere else?
(never touched a 3D program before)

I used google to find the floor texture and book covers. But you still need to adjust the pictures for your needs. On the other hand, most 3D programs have some textures with them.

Did you model that yourself or have you taken someone elses models, etc. ?
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

Looks pretty good to me. You got the reflection in the wooden floor pretty much spot on (thought it was a photo at 1st )
I know from work that especially shadows can be a bitch, we render cars and car interiors, and especially interiors are really hard. Normally we have many light sources, cause if you just use one (simulating the sun) there is always some area that gets to dark etc.
What software do you use there?
At work we use Alias and Hypershot
Examples using Hypershot
LINK TO HYPERSHOT
The thing with hypershot is that its very fast, and it has a very simple and fluid interface. It also updates/previews real time when you change shaders etc.
Of course HS is only a render engine, you need to do the modeling in another app like 3DS Max, Maya or the like
There is a free trial version in that link above if you want to check it out.
I think there is even a "free" version out there...if you look around .

mm, ~2% more reflection might work.
Also I think some more objects in the room will help a bit too.
Getting the lighting correct on final renders is really hard :\
I hate you.

Awesome pump
But the one thing I'd say you should change is the view u use like 3 times...let me check what options the view is on.....4,6 and 7. Same views. Its repetitive ya know?
But the plasma animation thing is fuckin cool
I used to do flash myself. Way back when it first came out. Cant do shit anymore, but I was pretty good at it. Created a music webpage with flash back in...99 or something like that. Whenever the first edition of macromedia's flash came out

Make so that when you click a part of the screen it zooms in there.
Like if I clicked the DVD-unit, it zooms in there.
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

I know what you mean, its bad enough with 5 cats and a kid around ones feet
I keep my hand in as often as I can, its good for the brain apparently. Im trying to get it done but my flairy ideas keep interfearing with completion, all I want to do is get to the texturing/open up photoshop cause its where I need the practice a ton more.
The UVunwrap stuff in max2014 is really damn nice I think I prefer it to maya's by a mile.
Alas.... getting to that stage seldom happens these days

Just leave it installed for future dabbling Its what I do, just update if a new version comes out and check out the changes.. I try not to remove any of my creative tools because I always end up going "fuck wish I had that installed still type of moments"
put some relaxing music on sit back with waccom tab and just create
