Yes, I had this as well. It is caused by a gamepad connected to the PC. Go in the options, controls and move the controller deadzone to the utmost right. Will take care of the problem.

I run it at 1650x1080 on a 4870X2 at 30-45fps, which for a game like this is tolerable. But what can I say, it is unoptimized, it has artificial limitations (aka PhysX), and still, I just love how the game feels, how it sounds, how it plays.
Fine.
9.5/10

Just started it, like it a lot.
Spoilers for levels 2, 3 and 4:
Spoiler: | Is there a drawing in level 3 about the forest? I got the drawing in level 2 about Danko, but nothing in 3, and now there's a drawing about a storm in level 4. |
Edit: Never mind, found it.

A fix for fucked up colors ingame:
1) Install powerstrip.
2) Create a keyboard shortcut to activate default color settings.
3) When messed up colors come up, press keyboard shortcut. Voila, it's fixed.

Or just open the "\Cryostasis\Data\Scripts\Init.cfg" file and change the last value r.windowed to 1, will affect performance a tiny but but you won't have those display artifacts.
(Those artifacts are actually the cause of why performance is so much better under DX10 with ATI as they alter the shaders or renderer in some way so not everything is calculated or what the proper term is meaning performance increases as the card doesn't have to work as hard.)

JB, we have to find a way to alter ther Radeon's clocks in windowed mod, that is the reason it is slower in windowed. AMD puts the clock at 2/3rds of the regular speed.

Oh that's "easy" (You damn well better know what you're getting into or you'll blow the card but the actual method is fairly easy that is.) you just alter a profile like when you specify a manual fan speed but you then open this profile and adjust the other settings related to core, memory and voltage values.
This is were it gets tricky as if you don't know the proper values you'll A) Overclock the card or voltage and burn it or seriously damage it or B) Underclock or even worse undervolt the card and also risk damaging it.
There are numerous tutorials for this so it's not a big issue anymore but it's not something I'd recommend for inexperienced users. (I only specify fan settings myself and leave the other stuff alone just due to the risks.)
EDIT: By the way profiles are saved as XML files in the "C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE\Profiles" and can be edited in notepad or similar, pretty easy to adjust if you know what you're doing.
EDIT: Example from my own file. (Just named them 0 and 1, 0 being casual at 45% fan speed and both very silent and cool and 1 being during activity such as gaming at 55% fan speed but a bit noisier though still very well cooled.)

Most are self explanatory but the Want_0 stuff is for 2D mode and the _1 stuff is for 3D mode (Full speed) whereas the other _0 and _1 stuff is for the cores on the card.

But does that allow you to modify the windowed clocks? Because I think windowed speeds are locked. So dumb of ATI to do this.

I edited my post with my own profile as a example, you can see several more commands than what ATI overdrive allows although most are handled automatically.
(Fan RPM speed, voltage and 2D clocks in this example.)

Wait, so what is want_0 and want_1? Are these the values of windowed (or 2D) vs fullscreen (3D)? If so, then I can just copy the want_1 values to want_0.
Edit: Oops, didn't read your last sentence. Well, I don't need it right now, but will try it sometime.

...what? My performance is considerably worse on 4.0 shaders than 3.0. Why would reverting to default colors fix shader problems? I think there's just a glitch in the code somewhere that messes up ATI color settings which you can force back to normal with Powerstrip.

JBeckman wrote: | What I meant is that with the artifacts "active" under DX10 / SM 4.0 you can easily hit over 30 FPS whereas with the problem fixed you'll have a hard time getting over 20 FPS, especially in more demanding scenes. |
That's how I understood it, but I'm saying it's not matching my experience. Whether I have the artifacts or not my FPS is the same. Which is why I believe the game just messes up with the ATI cards' LUT tables and which would also explain why resetting those LUT tables fixes the problem.
But anyway, the important thing is there's ways to fix it.

I'm guessing performance is affected by switching to windowed mode like in your tweak, and not directly by fixing the colors.
