That too of course but I took that in consideration when I wrote my replies above, wouldn't be accurate to compare windowed mode to fullscreen as since you say performance differs between the two modes.

EDIT: Which means I'm a bit of a idiot since going from fullscreen mode to windowed mode was the method I suggested so that'll obviously affect performance as it's a difference of ATI's 2D clock speeds (Windows Vista with AERO and when not running fullscreen D3D or OpenGL applications) and 3D clock speeds (Which are much higher and kick in during D3D or OpenGL in fullscreen and gives better performance.) Very Happy

(Must be getting tired or something, it's a bit late over here in Sweden after all, or atleast that'll have to do as a good excuse, haha.)

How can they use DX10 for physics calculation anyway? Maybe they just use something like soft particles to make the physics stuff seem more natural. It is possible to "hack" and use shaders for data calculation by using textures as data arrays, but I doubt the used that in conjunction with the PhysX stuff.

sorry if this has already been said, but does the Reloaded release include the 1.1 *supposed* performance patch?

It's the English version and it contains the changes from the Russian 1.1 patch. Smile

EDIT: Regarding physics I'm unsure how that works but that's what's mentioned in the changelog though it's pretty crappily translated via google.
(Might be that the game uses other stuff as well when you switch to the shader model 4 / DX10 renderer.)

I'm kinda missing the fluids/water simulation from the techdemo, is this because I'm on XP playing in directx9? Or isnt this included in the retail game? I'm @Level 3
And also, 16:10 widescreen is zoomed in for me and the hud gets stretched, I get a much better fov in 4:3 resolution. any of you experiencing the same?

prob cause your using DX9, DX10 seems to have more prettier features which could be done with DX9, just needa find a way to do it.

Wasn't it Crysis that had all these pretty effects for vista/DX10 but if you edited them all you could do it in XP?

It might be doable unless the shaders themselves are creating that effect and that would require one to use shader model 4 (Which is DX10 - as I've repeated too many times. )

Game files and scripts are easy to modify but finding the correct settings might not be as easy.

Just finished it and the ending confused the hell out of me. I've went through it about 10 times now in my head and I still can't grasp just what or why exactly it happened....
Anyone care to explain it to me in spoiler tags? Razz

I understand how everything fits prior to the ending...but then it just becomes a mess.

Sry if someone asked this already but how do you escape in the polar bear scene? I know you can just pass by if you fail and already finished the game. Just curious. Also i saw a slightly different ending method (although the end sequence is the same).

PS. I'm also curious about the polar bear scene, I just failed a couple times and skipped it.

EDIT: Spoiler tags. Sorry about that folks, I wasn't thinking.

in case of kings bounty maybe Wink
but in this case they sold that soul to nvidia physx Sad
instead of very good game (cause it has potential Laughing ) they made tech demo for physx that is repetitive as hell + very shallow story/combat system

Well, ATI Catalyst 9.3 is out. The question is... did they fix those 'blue/green artifacts' with this driver version.

I'll give it a try, was thinking of it after I installed the drivers but never got around it. Smile

EDIT: Doesn't seem to be as bad as before but it's still there, might be fixed in Catalyst 9.4 though.
(Can also run in windowed mode but that affects performance for a few different reasons.)

EDIT: Read on another forum that adjusting the gamma slider when this happens solves the problem, tried it myself and it worked just fine.

Unsubstantiated reports suggested that Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason would be upgraded and improved prior to its North American debut:

At first, the quirky nature of the story, and even of the story-telling, are captivating and encourage the player to dig deeper into the mystery and start putting the pieces together. The trouble is that things don't really come together soon enough to keep the mystery interesting. Even after playing for several hours, we're no closer to figuring out what's going on. We've heard that the ultimate resolution manages to tie most of the elements together in a neat little package, but since we hit a massive no-clip bug about two-thirds of the way in, whether the ending is great or not is kind of a moot point. In any case, the game needed to have solved at least a few of the mysteries before we gave up on it.

What? I had no problems what so ever. If you have a semi decent computer you can run it, no problem.
