This game is quite confusing and muddled. In order to switch households you have to delve into the menu screen, and finding places on the map (when you are using your car for example) is pretty laborious unless you know what each lot is off-hand. Otherwise you have to hover over each little house label and hope you find what you're looking for. I didn't, where do you take classes for painting for example? Relationships are also ridiculously easy to improve. Created a loner who is afraid of people, and altogether a complete mental wreck and he can still bed any woman he wants (if only real life were so simple Very Happy)

Other than stuff like that, which I can cope with, the game is awesome. The living breathing, and non-compartmentalised world is a breath of fresh air for a sims player. I also haven't experienced any crashes, or any stuttering.

Tickle, then change diapers, then feed, then put back in her fucking cage.
If you're lucky, the needs will almost remain synched so you can ignore the bitch most of the day. LOL Crying or Very sad

As for online dating, yes.
If you choose "Chat with someone", your sim will find a random person to chat with, then later on you can choose "Chat with ..." and select that one again, eventually you'll get enough relationship points to invite them over, and there ya go Smile

Well as for the map thing. You take classes at the school (i dont know what its called), its somewhere below the middle park. And you learn where places are after a while, blue icons are stores/jobs/shit.
Or you can just scroll the camera until you reach the place, and walk your sim all the way there if you dont want to use the map.
Also remember, you can do stuff at job sites, such as getting plastic surgery at the hospital and stuff..
So even if the place is labeled as a job-site, check it out even if you dont work there, you'll be able to do all kida stuff.

As for the loner who can still get any woman in bed he wants.. Well if a loner who is afraid of people, would also flirt flirt flirt charm hold hands hug flirt naughty joke hug first kiss make out flirt wohoo in real life, i think it'd work for them too ;D
The prob is, loners that are afraid of ppl in real life, dont flirt Razz Try getting in bed with someone ingame without flirting, it aint gonna happen grinhurt

Holy shit this game is realistic lol Laughing

I wonder if you can woohoo with a ghost... Because the wife chatted and flirted with the ghost, had a "first kiss" option, but the husband came to argue with her, and the night was over. Laughing

Wasn't it possible to resurrect a ghost in Sims 2? I never played it much, but I seem to remember some special object or something that could do just that. Not that woo hoo'ing a ghost would be wrong, but... Wouldn't it be like humping air? Very Happy

The Sims 3 store is still on lockdown, but the main page is on Google's cache already:

1$ (bet they go Valve with the currencies, so 1$ = 1€ = 1£ Razz) for a single hairstyle that looks mediocre at best... At least that second town is free, sheesh.

Sims 2 university had a special object (carreer reward iirc) that allowed you to resurrect the dead. You had to pay big tho. The less you paid the more zombified they became upon resurrection.

Heh so you could be a cheapskate and end up with an army of mindless thralls? I want that. Very Happy

Btw., apparently in Sims 3 with enough gardening and a special opportunity you can get a seed for a special tree - each fruit you eat from it extends your life by 1 day. My char just turned adult so guess there's still time to train that green thumb.

I hope to fucking god this stuff isn't DRM-locked, so that people get it - and then upload on the net.

I've noticed this as well. Never thought to check that trait amongst my friends.

I came home to the maid playing video games. I had to fire her.

2 quick questions:

1. what/where the hell is the 'woo hoo' in the dialogs, what relationship is required..from friends to married i've not seen it...and it's a frequent wish

You need to be romantic toward a sim constantly during a conversation for that option to finally "popup". Very Happy It takes quite a while and unlike some peeps say, it doesnt always get accepted. My current (hehe) wife ingame required a proposal first before she would put out, the bitch. Twisted Evil

@Ispep: Could you tell me how you did the moving? I looked for the option for quite a while and couldnt find anything. The damn lesson didnt explain it very well... Confused

Yeah the moving lesson doesn't help at all: what you need to do is use your cellphone and pick 'move'. Then you get the various options of moving some/all your sims, kick some out etc. I moved in with the Goths, kicked the old guy's ass and married his wife. Then I killed the old coot and later the wife as well. Now it's just me and my step son, whom I insult and patronize all the time. Think I'll kick him out for good and sell the house - too many ghosts to my liking. Laughing

If by "quite a while" you mean 30 seconds, then sure. Laughing

Anyway, wife has an affair - with another woman, woohoos with her and asks her to come live with us. The other woman agrees, and they woohoo to celebrate. It took too long, and I forgot to keep the husband away, so he walks right into the woohoo. Laughing Now I need to shell cash on another bed, because the idiot won't sleep with the wife in the same bed. Very Happy

It's not the game at fault. I haven't had a single crash yet, over 9hrs of play, nor save issues either.

I started hitting on my boss again, the one with the husband. And I finally got the option of making her leave him for me. Now I've got this BIG big house on the beach thats worth almost 300,000, and has basically the most expensive version of everything.

it's got 3 bathrooms, 4floors, a Gym, a big freakin' pool and enough furniture to put "Extreme home makeover" to shame. Now i'm thinking about leaving my wife, and keep the place for myself if that works. then i'm going to start a writing career, since I'm already a 'world renound surgeon'.

Like some people have said. If the modding takes off, tools are released or someone makes it moddable then its going to kick some ass this game.
